So, to summarize:
Stormtrance is ridiculous. Seems like it has more add killing potential than any other super in the game and an extremely long duration despite this. Arc bolts can... arc... around corners from their initial target and have a moderate range. Super meter drains over time, attacks don't seem to hasten the process. Super takes you into third person and you move by levitating. Sprinting doesn't appear possible.
Shadowshot seemingly gets two shots per super, with each shot being capable of precision damage. The shots do moderate damage in Crucible (seems like ~50% of health) and heavily obscure the screen of anyone caught in the Anchor. Anyone who is caught by the anchor without being hit by the shot takes no damage (5:24 in the video for first person perspective).
Hammer of Sol apparently turns your melee into Shoulder Charge. Hammer can be thrown over distance to deal damage and can be done so repeatedly. Enemies killed (at least via Shoulder Charge) seem to procure a Combustion-esque effect wherein the target explodes and damages nearby enemies. Shoulder Charge drains about ~45% of the super, whereas Hammer throw drains a surprisingly small percentage of the bar (5-10% maybe?). Naturally you can bonk your opponent over the head with it too, but I don't think they actually did that in the trailer.
Nightstalker gains an evade ability that is basically a lateral teleport/blink.
Suros Pulse Rifle and Suros Rocket Launcher were briefly shown but no obvious exotic perk(s) were demonstrated on Rocket impact (potentially not Exotic?). Pulse Rifle was not shown in combat. Addendum: Additional footage has revealed that at least the Launcher is a Legendary. Pulse can be assumed to be the same.
Several new enemy types and abilities were shown, with a Giant Shank-esque unit being the only "new" one I caught. Some Taken combatants displayed some form of unique ability, while all can be assumed to have one. Thrall performed a teleport not unlike the Banshee from Mass Effect; sort of a stutter jump. Phalanx shot projectiles from a portal in their shields. Psion demonstrated a duplication ability. Wizards were shown holding a strange sphere of energy not unlike the ball that appears over the player upon activation of Radiance. Knights fired projectiles from their heads. Hobgoblins seemingly fire Void bolts.Vandals displayed a shielding ability. Goblins gave allies an overshield by firing a laser from their eyes. Colossus tote massive Hive cannons.
Oryx is an airborne boss unit that can fire ranged bolts or charge from the sky with his sword. Valus Tra'aurn is more mobile Cabal boss with a few unique abilities such as an boosted slash attack. There was another unnamed Cabal boss with a mounted mortar cannon and a large denial shield preventing you from approaching him (not a confirmed boss; could be a new unit). There was a big spider-ogre thing with no ability showcase.
Rift and Mayhem are the new PvP modes. Rift involves taking a "spark" and delivering it to your opponent's rift, which earns points for your team. Entering the rift backwards allots additional points. Mayhem is a mode with increased ability recharge - go nuts, kids. Keep your Shadowshots and Suppressor Grenades close - you'll need them.
That's all I got folks.
Important Edit! Oryx ship is actually a patrol zone! At 3:08 in the video, he brings up his Ghost near a chest in Oryx's ship and patrol "jobs" are listed. It's also noteworthy that bounty tracking has been added to the Ghost menu.
If this is the start of year 2 of 10 and we get to keep progressing our guardians the whole way.....in a few years killing crota will be like killing dregs on cosmodrome patrol lol
This looks cool, but they'll probably change or take out a lot of stuff.
That's what they did with a lot of the things they showed in the original ViDocs.
Probably most of this stuff wont be available until a couple expansions after the taken king.
Just like the vidocs for the original game show the reef but it wasn't actually in the game until HoW.
OK guys look at 3:45 in the video. As the hunter starts to fall, he uses his melee and it is used up, however it doesn't seem to do anything. However if you look at the bottom left it days, "oryx_bng defended rock_bng." Does the hunter's melee now teleport enemies away from enemies?!
Well I am sold, looking at the guys talk about what they have created, that's what I love, and that's what more than anything will make me stick with Dest, £40 or what ever it translates to is high but for the amount of playtime it will give me it's well worth it in my opinion, and to be honest I don't give a rats arse what all the pessimistic haters think :)
