The logic is this. Less and less people are using the thorn everyday. I seen more red deaths, Voc, mythaclasts, and even suros Saturday and Sunday than I saw thorns. The thorn is a dying thing. Want to know why you see so many thorns? It's your fault actually. See you and thousands of others complain about getting killed by it in forums and such. "Noobs" and "tryhards" alike see this and think we'll damn if everyone is bitching about this I should get one.(I did this) and then they go to use it and suck with it and move on. Hand canons while more powerful and linger is a bitch are harder to aim. They don't have precision sights like other weapons so not everyone is good with them. Again I have it but I'll take my red death over it every time. I seen people tearing up IB with over soul edicts yesterday lol. The thorn is op to an extent but it's mostly in your head and over used because you cry about how amazing it is. Might as well make a billboard for it.

Change its reload speed and range. The gun can snipe. Burn damage and impact should stay the same.

With every kill with my Thorn I can hear the worlds smallest violin playing in the background.

Hush little baby don't you cry, Thorn's gonna sing you a lullaby. Two straight shots to your head, to make sure you are dead. And if that good ol' Thorn don't kill, Damage Over Time sure will. Fusions and shotguns don't you fret, post mortem kills is what we'll get. And if you're still alive, beware. There's plenty more Thorns in the Garden there.

I did 3 exotic bounties and got 3 Thorns as rewards. I use them too. Too bad you suck. I get killed by all kinds of weapons, not just Thorn. But I dont create a thread to bitch about each one because I'm not a whiny POS like a lot of crappy players on these forums. Learn how to play cry baby.

Destiny just needs a Hardcore mode like CoD. If any weapon can one shot you then the game is balanced.

If ARs were buffes again, we would probably see less of these threads.

It's not that Bungie did something to handcannons. It's that Auto Rifles were nerfed to oblivion, which lead to the next best thing to become the top. Bungie did buff pulse rifles, and they're hella better than before, but not too many people use them in PvP asides from Red Death and Bad Juju. Scout Rifles have pretty much stayed where they have always been since the launch of the game. What really needs to happen is Thorn's headshot multiplier needs to be lowered. Make it so that 2 shot headshots won't kill with the DOT leaving you at just enough health that a gust of wind would kill you. For Hawkmoon balance, they need to remove the chance of a 1 shot headshot from the 2 bonus damage bullet perks stacking. Regarding TLW, I'm not too sure about. Then Bungie needs to make auto rifles -blam!-ing usable again. The way they nerfed them was god damn stupid. Then things should be fairly even from there.

I don't get killed by Thorn any more than any other gun. Know why? Because I adapt to whatever the situation calls for rather than crying about it online. I don't get butt hurt when my screen turns green. I don't get butt hurt when I get tea bagged or danced on. I don't ask for nerfs either. The call for war has come and I have been asked by the speaker to help some of my fellow guardians in a mission to retrieve relics. After donning my armor and other essential items I scan my vast collection of weapons and begin preparing the ones I have chosen for the mission. Coming over the rise I take in the scene immediately and see one of the two guardians I am allied with is down while the other is holding off three of the enemy while using the relic as cover. We come in firing and double tap the closest guardian and watch as she falls dead. No time for mercy I think and you chuckle. Another of the enemy turned hearing your killing song and hip fires a fusion rifle as I move to evade I am hit with a glancing blow but my ghost is shot out of the sky. Hitting the ground hard we are already firing and six rounds pepper the fusion rifle and its bearer but he is not dead... not yet. The last of the enemy tosses a grenade at my ally and unloads his auto rifle in my direction but we are in motion and although I felt some of his poorly aimed shot hit home we are determined and return fire in greater effect then watch as the last enemy guardian staggers then falls. I fall to my knees breathing hard as my wounds bleed but I will never let go of you. You are much colder now and that is bitter-sweet for me because I know you have almost had your fill for today. I rise making my way to the relic and trying to figure out were that useless ghost is at or has it simply been destroyed then shrugged not really caring. “Ah guardian you did well the relic is ours.” Says my ally who is badly wounded but alive. I nod. You have the barest hit of warmth to you now my sweet Thorn. “We need to get an extraction team here not to mention a medic for me I....” My ally trails off his eyes fixed on you then his eyes meet mine. “It can’t be... Yor’s gun!” I move my head in a slow denial. “No, It’s MINE!!!” I say and put two shots in his chest but when pulling the trigger for a third shot nothing happens. I look at you my dear Thorn and my heart sinks to see you for your eyes have darken to onyx pools and you are now ice cold in my warm grip. I know you are sleeping again and I know I will be less without you. My dimly lit armory was as I left it and I had returned all to its rightful place save for you my Thorn. I walked to the darken alcove with you cradled in my arms then reverently place you back on your Hive bone stand and looked at you for a long moment. “Good night sweet prince and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”

Ever heard of the last word? I beat thorn users more than 80% of the time using last word....the other 20% is usually a draw because we both die (only because he got a shot off first). The only time thorn gets me is from long range distances on occasion when I decide to square off...the thorn is better at long range but other than that...the last word kicks its ass....
