There's been a lot of discussion about ToO, and one of the more popular ideas to solve problems with this game's lack of skill-based matchmaking was "Make the 9-0ers who went Flawless be separated from general matchmaking and fight other Flawless teams?" ... which has mostly been met with vocal opposition by the Lighthousers. My question is why?
Most posts I see that're like "No don't make the flawless teams fight each other!" are usually the same people that try to preach about how ToO is supposed to be a "for the skilled only" and "haha let's wreck scrubs", etc. ... an air of arrogance surrounds them. There's a feeling of genuine accomplishment and superiority they try to convey when talking about their flawless runs. How many flawless runs they did, and so forth. However, when the idea that they may have to fight equally skilled teams that whole bravado is replaced by a resounding protest. Buttholes pucker in fear. Testicles coil upwards as they nervously hammer out a response on the forums.
If ToO is supposed to be a legitimate "the best of the best" PvP Arena event, this is naturally the only way to truly see who's the best team, so if you're actually good then fighting teams of your own skill-tier shouldn't actually be a problem. The only reason why any Lighthouser should be afraid of a "9-0ers Only" matchmaking would be if they were carried to the Lighthouse or built their streak cherry-picking for matches against lower leveled, under-equipped teams. There's no denying the logic that the true Crucible beasts should be just fine when fighting teams of the same skill, unless they weren't as good as they claim to be.
So what's a legitimate counter-argument to the proposal of a "9-0ers Only" matchmaking?

4 답변I feel that other 9-0ers don't want to play against other 9-0ers because they're oftentimes trying to help a friend through the trials. For example, a team with 1 9-0er and 2 people who haven't gone flawless doesn't want to face an entire team of 9-0ers. That has happened to me in several situations, where I'm just trying to help a friend get to 8 wins for the prizes (not even flawless) and then we get destroyed by an entire team of 9-0ers. What I feel would be fair is to be matched up against teams with an equal number of 9-0ers. For example, a team with 1 9-0er and 2 others would go against an identical team of 1 9-0er and 2 others, same with 2 9-0ers and 1 other all the way to a full team vs a full team.

you are so on the money. a week or so ago there was a post from someone asking for the opposite or something like it. basically just have the teams matched according to skill level not just wins. I wanted some of the rewards from trials so even though I'm horrible at crucible a couple of friends and I gave it a shot. it was comical at best. we didn't win a single match much less a game. I think there are some true 9-0 teams out there that would enjoy what you are suggesting. the real guys want to know who's the best. the people crying are most likely the lagswitchers. just my opinion.

The game should place players who've gotten the grim Card For The light house with other players who have the Grim Card and if the fire team has 1 or to members that has not gone Flawless then fine but it won't always be that way eventually most people will have gone flawless and there won't be that many None flawless players

3 답변I love this idea! Maybe there could be an ultra exclusive emblem or class mark etc for the Top of the Top 9-0 team.

Because what happens then if you want to play with your friends who havnt gone flawless but they are then matched into your flawless games? And quit winging anyway my team has never lost to a team that has all flawless emblems, many more close games with people who havnt been to the lighthouse yet. Get some friends and practice. What do you want anyway the skill matchmaking to work on kd? Or wins? If you can work as a team and revives however many kills the other team gets is irrelevant. And no I'm not butthurt about the idea of this at all because I will still go flawless 👍

2 답변I don't understand what this accomplishes really. Say your system is in place. Oh my you then are able to squeak out 9-0. You are then cannon fodder again. Sure you got to go to Mercury once and got a cool weapon, but what will you do then? Post for people who have had twenty 9-0s to be matched with twenty 9-0s? Oh wait, you're going to love that idea...lol.

1 답변I have an idea. You go flawless and you get a ticket into a trials of Osiris tournament. You and your team get matched based on how many teams you have beaten. You get to keep progressing in the tournament until you lose a match. Then you are eliminated. Rewards are based on how many teams you beat and the last team left gets a unique reward.

14 답변작성자: Totsugeki 6/10/2015 6:42:42 PM9-0 matchmaking would still be a joke. I've seen some players get in who couldn't even manage to win a single round against one of my decent teams. Edit: this argument is also like saying that bc skolas is too difficult, his health should be halved for players who haven't killed him yet

For some reason all I play with are Lighthouse visitors aw well, and It doesn't matter how good you are. I only lose when I play with randoms, and I've already been that week before I play with randoms and I'm only looking for the ship and shader now. Doesn't really matter about skill lvl though. I honestly get better when I'm playing with randoms. The more I'm the last alive, the more I get better.

Not to sound cocky at all but I go to the lighthouse on all 3 characters every single week. Each trials card with my team takes less than 45 minutes even 30 minutes sometimes, reason why are because 90% (possibly larger) of the players I play against are average to complete sh!t. It's not a challenge for me or my team at all and I see it as just another "strike" or "nightfall" like difficulty. I'd like to go up against other lighthouse players or at least sub par decent players that have organized players instead of breezing through trials passages like its nothing. Just my thoughts, skill based matchmaking is needed.
