I've had the weapon since vanilla Destiny. Since before it became everyone and their moms go to gun. Lets get a few things out of the way: * If you do use Thorn, please leave my thread. I said people who DON'T use it * That bounty is NOT HARD TO COMPLETE. STOP acting as if you've earned some high buff gun through a series of trials. If you have a void of each weapon type and can't get the bounty, it's you that just sucks, not the bounty thats "challenging". * Thorn has FAR too Much of an influence in pvp. People swear by it for a reason. While it does have weaknesses, 2 thorn users can end a blade dancer in 2 well placed shots each. Thorn also allows it's lingering damage to stack. For PvP this is simply unacceptable. When my Red Death gets me a double I don't see my health go up twice as fast, nor so I get an extra bit of shield for doing so. If 2 ppl shoot you with Red Death, both don't get health back, just whoever got the kill For me the worst thing is that everyone uses it. Bungie gave us all this variety and then sucked it right back out of the game. Why? This is a problem. Thorn users don't want to admit it. The gun gets flak and is also extremely over used , the proof is in the pudding. If it wasn't over powered then why is it the most prominent gun in any pvp game type? this is why I don't use it. I illustrated it's weaknesses and why I find it influences matches too much, responding here is pointless, I have one and CHOOSE not to use it. Not only am I usually the one sheep that strays from the herd, but the thrill of Crucible to me is not just getting a whole te down with one super use. Yes, the cheap, quock, skilless kills can be quite entertaining. But for me, earning the kill is just as important. To me simply winning is not enoigh. I want to poop on you. I want you to know, my lingering didnt kill you, I DID. AND I DID IT WITHOUT USING THE ONE GUN YOU'D EXPECT ME TO USE. Not only that but I LOVED using ARs in Destiny. You practically just cant now. So this is how I choose to show I don't agree. I think thorn users think less about offering personal skill, and more about which guns will obtain them kills the easiest. That right there kills competition for me. I know this isn't Halo. And I know that apparently a super less, legendaries only Crucible mode is ludicrous to ask for. Don't debuff it Bungie. Let these cowards toil away. But give those that seek true competition a way to find it, free of lingering damage, self ressurects and fists of panic. And felwinters and Thorn EDIT: Looks like my plan worked. The Thorn users fell for it and tried to quip into my thread. Fellow non Thorn using members, we have them surrounded and out numbered! Quick, write corny poems and call them out on their bs! EDIT 2 : DID YOU KNOW? The Thorn bounty no longer drops.
