Does Destiny Need Matching? - A Test & VERY Helpful Instructions For End Game Match-Ups

Now i'm sure this post will get heavily mixed reviews which is fine. The entire post is my opinion and although I have gathered evidence I am sure others will have had entirely different experiences. Let me start by saying I started playing Destiny alone, having never joined a clan or used any kind of app or site to play others online. I was a casual gamer who played games such as COD or FIFA alone most of the time. Coming into this game I quickly got caught up in the desperate want too raid (After playing the story alone). I joined all of the major Destiny groups via the app like IGN and used those to find teams. I never had any real trouble (except I had no idea what the hell to do in the VOG and was majorly unhelpful to my team!) but I made it through and was hooked after getting an Atheons Epilogue! I didn't even use my mic because I was afraid of letting on how lost I was in the VOG. After a short while I had normal mode down and had even gathered a few friends to play with. Basically long story short, by the time the dlc dropped I had decided to make my own clan because I wanted to help others and knew my friends list had grown fairly full with capable raiders. My clan now has nearly 1000 members and its motto has and always will be 'we help you, so you can help others!'. So I have seen all of the forum debate about a 'need' for matchmaking and how lfg is unreliable and not for casuals. I have become fairly jaded on the subject because of my clan and my experience and inventory so I wanted to test this argument. Last night I went on to the recruitment section of this website/app and hunted down openings for the 32, 34 and 35 PoE to see how easy it would be to get into a group. Over the next few hours I had done the 32, 34 and 35 twice! Now I agree my experience and inventory come in handy to get into these groups. But not all groups were that picky! Below I have made two videos from the Skolas fights. One is filled with us using top tier weapons and killing him with ease after someone had his team bail on him because it was too hard. The other has myself, another 34 and a 33 with no real useful void weapons doing the Skolas fight within an hour! They were not elitist, they were eternally greatful I came to help them and didn't care about their weapons. I simply explained how we should approach the fight and after they had been stuck in this room for hours, we got it in 3 attempts! Skolas with a 33 and mediocre void weapons - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO-E12xH_20 Skolas with top tier weapons - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBbPjrrD0Go Basically all I am saying is: Matchmaking is definitely NOT a necessity. It will be harder for those who aren't blessed with the best guns and highest levels to find others but it IS perfectly possible. I am also VERY HIGHLY suggesting joining a group. You do not need the clan tag to be part of a group. If you don't want to stay active in the group, join groups like I did early on like IGN and other major ones. Jump into their chat whenever you want to find others! I hope this information helps at least some of you and I am sorry it turned out like a huge essay! I really think this information needs to be shared though so please favourite and bump it if you found it useful! I will post a link to my clan open to anyone on PS4 who is a high enough level to access end game activities. No special weapons or super high levels or experience necessary I assure you! https://www.bungie.net/en/Clan/Detail/677239
