Claim Suros or Vex needs to be nerfed and hardly anyone bats an eye....
Claim Thorn needs to be nerfed and everyone loses their mind (and tells you to "git gud").
Seriously though, Suros had nowhere near the Kill times that Thorn does now (and for a rough estimate on this, I've seen it kill people using Jolder's Hammer against the wielder in the same time). Not to mention the fact that you can efficiently get 2 shot kills(with precision damage) at optimal sniper ranges. Throw in the fact that some teams have them equipped to all players makes this fact even worse. Add in DoT to all this and it honestly makes it one of the most powerful primaries at this moment.
Now, I honestly tried not to jump on the "Let's nerf Thorn bandwagon" but it's pretty ridiculous when this is more used than either Suros or Vex ever was. Even TLW and Red Death are put aside for this weapon (I have only been killed a few times with each of these weapons and have actually seen people change to thorn just because they were losing).
Have your delusions that Thorn is fine all you want, but there is a problem when almost no one is using other weapons in crucible due to it's power.
Edit: For the people thinking that I am either whining or can't counter it. I can, but people could counter Vex and Suros in their prime and there were reason they were deemed over-powered. Thorn is a lot less rare and has a lot more going for it than either of those weapons and I actually listed the reason's why it's OP. Listing an actual complaint doesn't mean you are whining. Whining would just stating it broken/OP without giving an actual argument.
Edit 2: I am all for having the weapons buffed as well. As it stands the only weapon I NEVER see used in crucible is scout rifles (I maybe die from a MMT every once in a blue moon. Either way, no one weapon should rule crucible period.

I agree. People think the thorn buff was just to fix the need to the burn damage and the reload speed and clip size but they accidentally ( which seems to happen a lot with bungie ) buffed its base damage. I've used this gun since the second week this game came out and did well with it and didn't think there was anything wrong with it. Now it is overpowering anything because if you get hit twice or three times you're dead. Put a whole team with that gun and let's say they are good at team shotting people boom you lost the game. Yes you can counter with red death or the last word but thorn has more range then the last word and the red death can't counter multiple thorns at once. The burn still hits after you start healing too. Healing with red death doesn't stop the burn. TL:DNR This gun needs to be looked at, not nerfed into the ground like the Suros.

Secondly, if it's so OP, easy to use, broken etc etc. Why doesn't everyone use it? Why isn't everyone I see in pvp using it? I honestly believe it's all noobs who never seen vex when it was actually BROKEN or suros when it was THE BEST. ARs need a buff and everyone would shut up.

What amazes me are the people shouting that Thorn is "rare"...ehm...wat? You do realize Thorn comes from a fairly easy exotic bounty, and everyone and their uncle has one at this point. Which is why we're destined for another hamfisted weapon rebalancing soon. Their justification before was that too many people were using the same weapon TYPE. These days it's worse - everyone is using the same 4 guns.

3 답변After first reading that suros didn't have the kill times.... You obviously don't remember that pre patch the bottom half of the mag of suros was doing upwards of 60 per shot That's a 4 shot the last round was 68 I believe you can take out multiple people if they didn't have suros

18 답변You do know that thorn has the same kill time as it did before the buff the only thing that the buff did was add three extra rounds and increase the reload speed everybody needs to stop whining.

I agree, I've always played pvp off and on since day one. These last few weeks thorns have been dominating in pvp like no other. If I'm lucky I can kill someone with thorn using a vex but what gets me is the jackasses that wait till you're won a firefight and then shoot you once with thorn.

Vex when it was first available was majorly op and deserved the nerf (needing 2-3 nerfs a little much) and Suros bungie just decided to need to hell like all other auto rifles. I love the fact they based the auto rifle nerf off data coolest during an ib with auto headshots as a bounty and it was the week after Christmas. They just decided on their own all the noobs used auto rifles too much when it's bungie a fault for that stupid bounty on ib. Of course everyone is gonna use autos millions of noobs and an ib bounty great job getting stats bungie. Tl/dr: bungie nerfs stuff based off shitty stats taken right after Christmas.

Honestly I had to resort to the last word to compete with thorn And my lovely girlfriend shared a secret with me Crouch as soon as you engage a thorner those scrubs always shoot 1-2 times above you before realizing what happened

5 답변Either way, Suros was and is still much rarer than Thorn. The problem was that the few getting wrecked by Suros were [b]very[/b] public about it, thus prompting its nerf. Damn crybabies.
