TLDR

My wife is my fireteam partner and always has my back. She kicks ass and is always a welcome addition with any of my friends. The randoms that have been complete asshats when she plays are the same Dudebros that trash talk about KD and grimoire. The ones that don't understand the social aspect of Destiny. Our experiences have been largely positive though.

Giving random girls special attention simply because they are girls is both creepy and pathetic in-and-of itself. Support good gamers, support entertaining gamers, support fellow gamers, etc; but to hop on the girl bandwagon via made-up quasi political/social issues is a joke, it makes all of us guys look bad, and in some instances (such as Instagram for example) it only fuels some of their arrogance and ego-driven behavior which hasn't largely hit gaming communities yet, but let's be honest it is only a matter of time and has already begun with the rise of some fake girl gamers with egomaniac personalities (fake girl gamers = girls that have others secretly playing for them, but are lying by claiming it is them, via social media in an attempt to financially capitalize on the thirst of young guys that are quick to label them as being good). Not only that but in general we as guys can see through the BS of other guys. The word "white knight" is a passive aggressive term used by guys to "wink-wink; nudge-nudge we know what you are really doing but are doing it wrong" to other guys. For example there is a huge difference between being an actual nice guy and being a "nice guy" with the latter being the side product of a desperate set of attempts to win someone's attention/favor via buying it with an emotional currency that doesn't actually exist, which happens a lot when guys that are not good with girls deep-down acknowledge that they lack the attractive qualities most girls look for but yet feel entitlement because they were "nice". The reason a lot of "nice guys" finish last and why they are not desired in general is because unknowingly most girls can see through the facade and into something that is far less pleasant than what is being portrayed. This "issue" is an extension of that facade. It is transparent and we see right through it. If any cause should be taken up by guys it should be an effort to educate other guys into not embarrassing themselves and inadvertently knocking themselves down, while pouring gas on the fire that is female egomania that has infested more than the night club scene and has made its way onto modern social media. Seriously do you see the delusional "Instagram models", and I use the word model loosely.
