Does anyone else think that getting etheric light is just too hard?
I began playing HOW at 1pm Tuesday, the very moment the switch was flipped. Within an hour or so I began to realize what they meant when they told us in the reveals that all gear and weapons can be upgraded to the new higher levels. Each piece can be upgraded with Etheric light. I then made the erroneous assumption that EL must be pretty common if every single piece of purple in the game needs it. I have played every spare moment for 5 days. I have farmed the new bounty events for HOURS. I have done Strikes. I have done the Nightfall. I have done Prison of elders on 28 a dozen times, and on 32 three times. Each time with keys for the big chest. I have won Crucible Control matches. I have done all the story missions on two characters and an even dozen Petra bounties with both. Can you guess how many Etheric Light I have gotten? ZERO!
So Bungie listens to its community. A request from a devoted player. Please come up with a way to get more of it out there. Maybe make the stuff for weapons different. I am not expecting to get to 34 overnight. But I am a high level PVE player and have always known how to get my characters to top level and how to upgrade my weaponry. Now it's just luck. I know everyone is going to say to run the 34 Prison and I will get it. Frankly thats a bit of a ridiculous task just to upgrade a Timurs Lash or an LDR.
I am pretty disappointed and am losing interest in the game altogether. When I logged on last night at 7pm I told my group of friends that if I didn't get one EL tonight before I logged out I would be quitting Destiny. At 2am I still hadn't gotten one and had my finger on the delete button, when I decided I would post to the forums before I did anything drastic. Find out what the community thinks. Maybe get some advice from other high level PVE players.
So what do you think? Am I alone in my frustration? Is there a better way that I haven't tried? I would really appreciate a response from someone at Bungie. Tell me the thinking in this decision.

SO I understand now. Etheric Light and House of Wolves were just meant to get us to keep playing until Year two when The Real Destiny was finally released. All the gear was going to become defunct anyway.

작성자: OneKills99Alibis 5/27/2015 12:56:23 AMNah... You only need one. At any given time both variks and the trials vendor will have 42 light armor. Plus 1 exotic that's easy af to ascend.. Means usually either boots or a helmet left to get etheric light for. Do 34 prison. Easy as cake. 5 wins in trials. Only 5. One exotic shard. And two prison runs. 32 for armor core and 34 for etheric light. Badaboom. 34

1 답변EL isn't going to be common unless you do ToO. I have 1 clan mate that has 3 34s from doing just that alone. He had not even unlocked POE until that point on his Hunter. I am not a PVP player either, so I will have to rely on getting mine from Nightfalls and POE 34. Last week I got all 3 34s done as 33, so it's not impossible. I also got one to drop from a nightfall. You can get there, it's just going to take more time.

1 답변Do the Nightfalls man. Stop crying. Get a team together and finish a 34 PoE. I'm sure lvl 34 guardians will be here to help you out.

1 답변I completed lvl 34 and 35 PoE on all 3 character did ToO with all 3 characters. And have 3 lvl 34s with 4 ascended legendary weapons while still having 2 light to spare. But before you say anything I have a hunter, warlock, and titan so there was no gear swapping.

3 답변Guaranteed Etheric Light is on level 34. Which is a catch-22, because you need Etheric Light to get to level 34 to begin with. I'm in the same camp, I haven't gotten a single one yet. I wish for the old ways of shards, because at least I could get them.

You asked what I think: I think you should be a man(?) of your word and delete Destiny. Then we don't have to slip and slide in your big puddle of tears on the forum. There is a lot more to the game than Etheric Light. Please delete the game.

3 답변Only Trials, 34+ leveled PoE, and Nightfall can give it to you. Or so I have heard. I got some gear from Variks with a armor core, some from Trials, upgraded an exotic helm with an exotic shard, got two EL from Trials, got to 34, played 34 and 35, got two from that, but no 35 ship, shader, and emblem, maxed out my Efrideet's Spear, Timur's Lash, and Hunger or Crota. Got a grand total of four. Just takes different modes. You'll get there. I felt the same way for a while.

How is getting etheric light any different than how we had to get raid gear previously? If anything it's considerably easier to acquire because there are multiple activities that guarantee it as a reward. When raids were the only way to get max level, you had 1-2 chances per week to hope luck would give you the armor you needed. To this day my Hunter has yet to get the chest or helmet from Crota.

I came to this expecting to see too easy to get. I've gotten 6 this week they are defintly not hard to get. And if you're wondering I got them from Nightfall Prison of elders 34 x2 Prison of elders 35 x2 Gold tier trials package
