How does one figure this out? Surely there are too few bases for translation?

But thanks to Variks, we can now begin to roughly translate Fallen dialogue. I believe he gives us just enough variation on defined words to even begin to interpret generic Fallen mob dialogue, given context clues and the like. I'm excited to begin to phonetically lay out sentences and match them up to the translations already provided. Perhaps we can discover even more lore as a result, straight from the horse's mouth. Was missing second syllable.[/spoiler][/quote] This is actually really cool to figure out, I usually like learning languages, cultures, traditions and customs in games like Destiny, Halo etc. Really interesting stuff to better understand a given species. (Am I the only one here like that? Please tell me there's two or three), now I just need to find out how to say 'I love you' in Eliksni for my GF. Heh.

holy shit this is amazing. I'm currently doing an intro course to linguistics for my bachelor of languages and linguistics so I love finding this stuff. One thing though how do you pick out the sounds? We're currently doing phonetics and phonology now and I really struggle to differentiate sounds when its from a language I'm unfamiliar with.
