As a dude with a really awesome girlfriend, it can be difficult to create a solid balance between giving her the attention she deserves, and the time you need to put into Destiny in order to thrive. Fortunately, she's a huge bookworm and doesn't mind sharing the couch while I farm/raid/etc as long as she has her own entertainment. In your experiences, has Destiny put a damper on your relationships? Or does your lady/man not really care, so long as the two of you have "you time" every now and then?
EDIT: over 100 responses! I love the mostly positive feedback! Keep on lovin' guardians!
EDIT: Nearly 200 responses. Holy crap. Great dialogue going. Now I'm curious for those of you that play with your SOs, do their or your misadventures (maybe one of you is much better than the other) cause tension, maybe an argument or disagreement between the two of you?

I got my girlfriend into destiny about 3 to 4 months ago, even though she never played shooters before. Took some persuasion and patience to teach her, but totally worth it since we switch off playing when I get home from work.

I game with my wife. She built her own toon- titan. I run the end game on that character and she does the bounties and gear grinding. When she's not playing she doesn't seem to mind if I do. This season is pretty light for us for tv and we can catch up on all the shows we watch together in one sitting. So that's Thursday lol. Tuesdays are her "girly" tv days so no issues on reset day. (Very helpful when grinding for ghorn) And Nah. We laugh at each other when we die for stupid stuff. She about lost it when I died at Crota by landing on in between a rock and a wall. I gave her her due tho when she got killed by a thrall with less than 100 xp left on the 9k bounty.

My girlfriend actually plays with me, every Tuesday we knock out the night falls, we always raid together and we do bounties together, the only thing she doesn't do is crucible haha so she only hates it when I play crucible with my buddies because she isn't a pvp person haha

She doesn't really like it but to be honest I don't want to play when she and my son are around. I get time when they're out at baby classes or I get up early before work to grab an hour here and there. As so many say it's all about balance. Sure I don't complete all the activities every week but I've still managed to get all exotics and all the crota weapons except that bloody blackhammer (maybe this week?!). Have had all VOG weapons too except praetorian fools though stupidly have shared all the corrective measures.

I got lucky and found myself a girl who's into games. We met on GTA and I brought her with me to Destiny. Out of the ~4 days a week she's at my house, we'll go out to dinner like twice, go shopping for little things we need once, and get a decent amount of time playing side by side in between. Only downside is that she hasn't upgraded from 360 to 1 yet so we can't really play together.

My wife has a good sense of humor about it and lets me play. She calls Destiny my second wife and job. But when she says she needs me I drop Destiny and be with her. As long as I do that, she will just chill on facebook with the dogs while I grind. There has to be a give and take.

Like most people it seems, my GF is fine with it. Everyone has their own way of spending time at home. She likes to do stuff on iPad and watch hospital dramas and vampire shows and I like to video game. Getting two TVs is always the way to go through. If one of her shows is on and I wanna play then I just move to the other TV. Video games are no different then any other at home pastime just like reading, watching TV, or sewing. If you have a significant other who hassles you a lot for playing I feel bad for you.

Teach her to play. Do it together. I've always hated when guys played games all the time when we were dating until one talked me into playing. I was horrible at games for so long. Eventually I gave it a shot and now I love it and I have a ton of awesome friends because of it.
