How did you start Swordbearing?
I have my hunter ready to go and I'm confident in myself that I can do it.
I've managed to get a few hits in solo, heck, I'd be able to solo the raid as a whole if it wasn't for Crota.
But NO-ONE cares about a novice Swordbearer.
How did you start?
How can I start?
I know HOW to Swordbear, I just feel like I'd cock it up majorly.
Edit: Just thought I'd add, I'm on XB1 and my GT is CCXGT.
I'm usually on after 12pm GMT if anyone's interested.
Edit 2: So I've met this amazing guy, 'JagerMorder91' who is willing to teach me and be patient with me.
We ran through CE Normal 3 times yesterday, each time him being the Swordbearer, he then took me to the Sword of Crota mission and taught me the basics.
We're gonna take a shot at it later on today and hopefully I won't cock it up too badly!

I read about how to do it. Then one day no one had done it before so I quickly volunteered. Took a couple tries but I got it. My second try was on hard. Had he guy walk me through the differences and give me some great tips. The group did Crota first try. Gave me the confidence I needed so I usually volunteer now. It really, really helps to have a good group shooting rockets your first couple times. That means they listen and shoot at the right times. Timing is key, otherwise you end up standing next to Crota when he isn't down (late rockets suck). So as much as people joke about the ease of just shooting rockets, those guys doing their job makes running sword much easier, and easier to learn.

1 답변If you have a friend with a ghorn you can go into crota and just have him take crota down for you since it only takes two rockets as a 32. Its a great way to practice.

My exact story? We're on normal we get to Crota and this happens Friend: awesome we finally beat that ugly bitch wizard Whole team: YAAAAAAAS Random: I GOT GALLY!!! Minutes later... Friend: so who's a hunter? Whole team is silent... Me: uhhhh me.... And that's how I learned to be a swordbearer and now I can kill Crota first try everytime on hard

I was taught to use my titan/warlock before I was spoiled with the hunter for bearing. So I got good with titans and warlocks and then just recently started using hunters. I personally prefer titans/warlocks theyre easier for me

1 답변Being a hunter I was always asked to run sword, I always said no because I was too worried about causing a wipe. Then one day a very helpful member from the 100 said that he would get a team to down crota and I could kill him all night untill I had mastered it. I killed him on my first try in two swords. Ever since then I always run sword, I even get asked to help people and show them where there going wrong. Nothing will ever beat that feeling of the first hard mode kill though, took about 5 goes but I did it!

1 답변Ran it solo until i killed crota and felt confrotable. Then ran it for a few random groups. Got normal down and two kills on hard, its alot harder to find a willing group on hard.

Got to Crota on hard. Everyone says 'can anyone swordbear' so I said sure, I'll do it (didn't tell them I'd never picked the sword up before) and proceeded to beat his ass on the first try... Then I told them I'd never done it before ;) Seriously, just try it without telling people

Oh, simple. Clan went into Crota's End, we got to bridge and Swordbearer dropped sword. Entire team looked at me so I was like "fine..." We got to Crota and saw Swordbearer again and once killing him, entire team looked at me once more so I said "this is what I get for being Relic Runner in VoG, damnit!" That's how I became the badass swordbearer I am now.

J ust happened to be the only hunter in the group when people thought we were the only ones that could swordbear. Killed him a couple times on normal then a couple times on hard. Now i can run all characters on normal and the titan and hunter I can do on hard. Just haven't needed to try the warlock on hard since my group has a couple swordbearers

Act like you are definitely the most experienced swordbearer in the fireteam and run it until you kill Crota, or they decide you suck and kick you. Repeat. That's really the best way to get practice when you are just starting out.

I started by two manning it with a buddy. He would down and I would run sword. Eventually I began doing it solo. I can now run sword on all characters. Find a buddy that wants to 2 man it and just do normal over and over again for practice, 1 him, 1 you.
