So you have all probably read guides or watched youtube videos on saving up marks, almost levelling up faction ranks and saving 5000 xp bounties until the DLC hits us next week. Some of you have probably not really thought about these little extra things as well, a lot of you won't have these issues and problems but I'm sure there are players like me. 1. Exotic Shards, go check to see how many you have on each character. You will need these to upgrade exotic armour pieces and weapons to max level on day one. I sadly, only have 10 so I have put together a list in notepad (you could write it down on paper if you want) of the 10 exotics I will be using these shards on, I also have some exotic bounties on my characters so I will be completing those ASAP to add some more exotics to the list of 'Day 1 Upgrades'. My choices came down to use, what weapons will I be using the most? What armour pieces are the most effective in a nightfall or Prison Of Elders? Sure you can use strange coins to get a shard for 7 coins but this brings me to my next point. 2. Strange Coins, You will not be wanting to spend your strange coins unless you make sure you save at least 39 strange coins for three armour pieces (just incase three pieces of HoW new exotics get sold) and 17 more for a new weapon, if it gets sold. Save these, need heavy ammo? Spend about 5 but these exotics are important if they come straight away as I will tell you.... if I knew what Gjallahorn was capable of in week 1 I would have bought it.... it has never been sold again.......... I still don't have one. 3. Old Vs. New Gear, You might be told to buy some gear from the vendors before the DLC hits as it will never be sold again but this brings up decisions... do you buy this gear now as it will never be sold again and make yourself look nostalgic or do you wait for the new gear and have the option to reroll weapons on day 1 for perfect combinations? Its tricky, I've spent half my marks on my Warlock and Hunter for some gear pieces that look unique such as the Gas Mask looking one for a hunter which has decent stats for PVP or the NM and DO chest pieces as they all have good stats and great perks and I already had the FWC one. For my titan I am saving everything I have, its only lvl 30 but it has CE gloves and boots and a VOG chest with a Saint 14. I will definitely upgrade the helm, get new vendor gear from FWC and keep using the VOG chest. The thing about this issue is, we're all getting ready to try and race to max level but it will unfortunately come down to luck, some people will get etheric light from the nightfalls and could possibly get to level 34 without even stepping foot in the Prison Of Elders and some people might get the light from these endgame activities but a lot of us will be stuck at level 32 and 33 and I will just say that........ [u][b]there is no rush[/b][/u], if you burn through to max level now then you might bore yourself out of the game. Take time with it and have fun. I still don't have all of the exotic weapons and my Titan has never been max level, the enjoyment I have gotten out of Destiny has been the banter with my fireteam and the slow progress I make over time.
