Destiny is a game that was completed last year and chopped up and sold back to you, with the final piece arriving this coming month.
The "new" social region as well as 3/4 new missions were cut from the game and people were already talking about it in January/Dec as one of the things missing from the original release. Anyone replying with the traditional "source?" can look it up.
Anyways the reason we are all still here is the fact that Destiny is an AMAZING game. HOWEVER it is an amazing game that was chopped up and sold to us in 3 pieces, and was already done in November.
Anyone disputing this can look up the redditor comments by the head writer who left due to the arguments between himself and the Activision rep over cutting up and changing the storyline to make the traveler the good guy. (Bungie traditionally puts in a plot twist halfway through as with The Flood in Halo, or finding out the Traveler is actually the bad guy fooling us all, and is still damaged from the war with earth as in this one)
The game in itself is fun. It's just 5 minutes of fun. Ridiculous is also the fact that Bungie/Activision keep releasing cut content acting like they are doing us favors.
Obviously people who reply with homophobic comments such as "FGT" or other insulting comments which are traditional in response to any criticisms of destiny, have only this destroyed their own argument, as no one will take it seriously.
Edit: My problem is not just what was posted above, but the fact that the game was entirely too short . If this shooter rpg had shared the length of a traditional one (single player is more than 12 hours) I could have grudgingly lived with
Edit 2: Half of you people could work in PR:
"Don't like our product? Don't complain if you can't afford it child"
Edit 3: Unless you buy everything on a whim your "can't afford it?" arguments are hypocritical. Sorry fam.
The real amazement comes at the amount of delusion here on these forums in the face of a very calm OP. You have only helped my argument due to making yourselves all look like 11 year old children.
I do however appreciate those few that have been able to remain an adult even if I do not share your opinion.

At the end of the day I have played enough to consider that I've got my money's worth out of the game. I've paid for $60 games that I played for 2 days and called it good. I play destiny fairly regularly and have fun while I'm on. I see why a lot of you feel cheated but if it is how you feel you are not forced to buy anymore content. I would say cut your losses and think of it along the same lines of being the dude that preordered brink haha.

I am confused, how long did it take you to play through the story of this game the first time? It took me about 16-20 hours if I recall correctly, sure I like to spend a bit of time in patrol to enjoy myself and do the bounties and the strikes, but that is all part of the fun.

Dude, you have almost 200 hours played, if you bought the game and $30 in dlc that's $90 ($100 with tax to be nice) that's .50$ an hour.... I think you got your money's worth even if it wasn't playing a traditional storyline

Any game, no matter how it is parsed, that provides pennies per hour of entertainment is worth it. Either save your allowance kid, or get off your lazy butt adult. Work and contribute to those who WORK and make your games. See, it's like a circle, not a take take life many of you seem accustomed to around here....

Because what I paid for the stand alone game was worth it and what I've payed for the dark below was worth it and knowing how much I enjoy this game, what I paid for the house of wolves will be worth it. I judge the value of my purchases in video games based on overall enjoyment and quality and destiny far exceeds any other console game I've played with only red dead redemption and skyrim coming close. If activision and bungie decided to cut content in order to refine it and deliver better content in DLC than that's a decision they made that I'm happy about. I'd rather pay an extra 30 bucks to have this game continuously developed and improved than have paid 60 and had it all at once in an unfinished state. Bungie is working their ass off to make this game better and better and all people can think about are the politics behind cut content and the DLC.

Destiny was more like Original game: Burger After TDB: We'll take that patty, if you buy it back we'll give it to you with cheese After HoW: We'll take that cheese, if you buy it back we'll give it to you with bacon Repeat...

I read up on the original story idea and it seemed like a good game to play. I thought the traveler was evil anyway and it wanted some mindless troops to fight for it.

And another regurgitation of the same crap. I was hoping this was a if you are going go thread, for all the crybabies. You aren't sprouting anything new, we all know about reddit, your a full dlc late to the party on your argument. So please stop making threads on dead topics. Believe what you want to believe but realize it's been done, don't post on public trading, or Xûrning, or why Ghorn should be sold, or why is RNG mad at me.... Because it's already done weekly.
