Thorn IS op.
Before I get a bunch of op is fgt let me explain something. I use thorn a good bit and I realize it's weakness and strong points.The only thing that I think thorn should be nerfed on is fire rate. This would make thorn definitely still a threat but just a little more time between each shot would allow for some countering.
I know that a gun like this does take skill believe me but the time to kill on thorn is faster than most guns.
Edit:I would like to thank the people who were nice and agreed with me or didn't. I just wanted people's opinion on my idea and I got mixed reviews about it,but I stand by it please debate further and I will too.
Everyone who says that I need to get better or change my style just know I came to this conclusion by using thorn weeks on end and I think it's a valid nerf

I know a lot of people brag about doing it quickly...'I did it in 4 games...twice...ain't I good?'. That may be true, may be not. It took me a while to complete due to being a bit shit in Crucible! Well I was shit, I've gotten better since playing it to complete the bounty. Did it with a Titan, magnetic grenades, rocket launchers and fusion rifles. Managed the Xyor stage with help from a friend and finally landed Thorn. Obviously I'm going to use it in PvP, especially after all that grind for it. I wonder how much of the furore is coming from people who don't have Thorn? I can see that if you can't do the bounty to get the weapon then being owned by it in PvP will be annoying. The subject of Thorn is, forgive the pun, a thorny one. If you can complete the grind and finish the bounty, you should be allowed to use a weapon that's powerful. That said, hand cannons might get hit with a nerf. We'll have to wait and see. Until then, I'll be one of the muppets running around in the Crucible with my Thorn!

Personally I don't think its that bad in run of the mill crucible, I can usually out gun thorners with my red death, but when it comes to trials, something where the margins are so fine a fire rate nerf wouldn't be sufficient. The reason for that is most teams all shoot at the same guy at once (dead easy when its 3v3) meaning fire rate has no impact at all as you'll be hit with 2-3 bullets simultaneously and die.

1 답변they just need to nerf the range. Maps are too small. You shouldnt be able to sit across the board with thorn and outgun a Red Death or Mida (which happens all the time)

9 답변Yeah it's a pain in the butt honestly. The poisoning is just obnoxious, and I refuse to use it. I'd rather slay my opponents with dignity than blast a thorn in someone's face and snicker behind a corner as they wither away from the poison.

This would allow players to focus more on aiming for the head, and not worry so much about utilizing the rate of fire, and would also allow likely one more tick of damage before landing the second shot. This would make accurate players able to destroy with this gun. However, people who are inaccurate and don't take advantage of the shots you are able to take in a gunfight would suffer severely, this making thorn more of a niche type of weapon. I for one would be all for the nerf to it's rate of fire, just so I would no I'd been killed by a skilled player, not someone who can spam the trigger

12 답변To those who think the bounty is hard to do, and because of that it should be OP, you are trash and use thorn as a wheelchair in PvP. To those who call OP a fgt and a noob because he wants to voice his OPINION (he is also being quite civil about it), slip a rubber over Bungies dollar soaked slong and hop on it. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about, as there should not be a "best gun" in the crucible. Finally, to those that agree with OP, or refuse to use it cause it's like shooting a squirrel with a S&W500, thank you for being civil. Flame on, I'm sitting beside a fire extinguisher.

To everyone who wants a particular gun nerfed, then get as many people as you can to use it as possible, including yourself. Bungie only nerfs weapons that are popular rather than op, so if you can get statistics showing that thorn is over popular then you might be in luck.

3 답변I think that since Thorn is the hardest Exotic bounty to complete, that it deserves to be as strong as it is. I think it should stay the same as it is now. If anything a buff back to it's original state.

3 답변I think it needs a impact buff (for pve) because even though I would like to, I can't use it at max potential because of the low impact. I'm all for the RoF nerf though

I don't have it, nor do I think it's OP. I've out gunned it in many games with uncommon weapons, and consider TLW to be more imposing. The only time I see people chronically losing to this gun is when they fail to adapt their tactics. I know this is just a game, but you can't demand other people play as lazily or foolishly as you do. I don't intend this inimically; it is observation.

It is way better than pretty much anything else But I don't think a direct nerf would be good. They could probably make the bounty much more rare and make it much much harder to get by making the bounty extremely more difficult bc it's really really easy right now.
