So I was having a discussion with someone and they argued because they don't believe in God that they will be punished for eternity by God in hell.
When it's actually the opposite ..... God does not do the punishing ....
You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!” “All right, you may test him,” the LORD said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the LORD’s presence. (Job 1:10-12 NLT)
God allows satan to punish people to test their faith and glorify him through every situation. God will not punish you for eternity for not accepting his son as your savior. Hell isn fully described but I believe the greatest punishment will be eternal separation from our creator and knowing who HE is and not being able to be near him or worship him.
What is your take on this subject? I would like to know honest answers .... I won't be replying to trolls and people trying to start a fight. Have a blessed day.
Edit: I'm not here to fight or argue with you nor do I judge or condemn anyone for their beliefs, remarks, questions or replies. So don't get that wrong. I just simply want to discuss.
Edit: 700 posts ..... It's been good discussing with you guys.
Edit 2:1000 posts ... Good to see the word of God is being seen by so many. Once again happy to discuss with all of you your opinions about the subject. I did not create this thread to judge, fight, or condemn.
Edit 3: 1700 posts ... It's astounding how many people that reply that know nothing about the bible, nor have read the bible but yet want to argue it's truth, or that the bible has contradictions/errors in it.
Edit 4: 2000 posts ... I have really enjoyed discussing everything with you guys. I am just planting a seed, it is not my job to harvest it.
Edit 5: read and study Roger Oakland, evolutionist, biologist turned Christian .... Very amazing story of redemption and salvation. You might learn something from him .... He's smarter than me at explaining it all.

For some reason I assume that it's not permanent, that the punishment is as long as it takes the sinner/person to admit their wrongs, regret and repent for their wrongs, and come to terms with it. If I remember correctly one of the apocryphal stories even supports this. Correct me if I'm wrong. (Yes I know that most of them are looked at with doubt, but I believe that the fact that one still gets another chance to repent at the end supports that theory). Another note is that I don't think it's so much hellfire and brimstones but that hell would be relieving ones own mistakes or a nightmare scenario to force one to understand their sins.

3 답변Riddle me this: Homo Sapiens exist on Earth for one hundred thousand years. Ninety-eight thousand years after that, a god "shows up" through a man who was later claimed to be his son (notice how he never claimed that himself). Now add 800 years and a "church" has developed based on the sacralization of this man and his supposed father. This church than creates a book with the role of amassing several already well known legends into a book. These legends came from polytheist cults (religions with several gods) in order for the church to seem less alien to those it was trying to convert. Now add 692 years and a Spanish ship finds itself on the shores of a "new" continent. The people living there have been in total ignorance of this "god" for hundreds upon thousands of years. God "revealed" his existence in one place only: Jerusalem. Probably as far from the wild americas as could be. He showed himself there but nowhere else meaning that anyone not in the immediate vicinity would be left as a non-believer and therefore, quite literally, go to hell. He alienated part of his creation and chose to sacrifice that part; and for what? Why would he do such a thing? Of course in such questions the only answer we have is "god works in mysterious ways" and we've heard it all before. Was it a mistake then? Did he forget that small part of the world with innocent aboriginals who sacralized the nature that kept them alive? If god does not make mistakes, and god has made a mistake then does god exist? Too many questions for too little answers. And here is another. My final question. At no point in history has communication and the link between us all been so fluid and strong. If god showed himself now he would bring unanimity between all of humanity. World peace. Why hasn't he? Clearly if he is all knowing, surely he would reveal himself now instead of a time of darkness and far distances between all. Oh, pardon my mistake, god works in mysterious ways.

1 답변Doesn't separation and the inability to worship imply God cannot reach Hell and doesn't exist there? Apparently God exists in all places and it is said he holds the keys to the gates of Hades. Also, even after everything was taken from the man, he still had his faith. Why couldn't it be the same for people in Hell? Can they not repent and reach God?

I think if God really does exist, we deserve to know about it. No one really knows if God exists or not. There is no proof for either. As humans, we haven't even scratched the surface of enlightenment. We are not all knowing.

19 답변Well, I have no belief in God at all. The fact that people take a 2000+ year old book seriously I will never be able to understand. We all just die, our actions have no impact on where we go, we just die.

3 답변작성자: Peregrine 5/1/2015 7:26:53 AMI don't give a shit. I'm suffering now and I'll suffer later. I would actually prefer hell to be honest. I bet people are nice there and we'll share a common pain. The people in hell are probably interesting seeing as they're scientists and serial killers. Seeing as the danger with serial killers in hell is somewhat minor, I bet they'll have a lot of conversation to do. 😁
