The Ghost says during the Cabal's first appearance that "They blow up planets just for getting in their way."
He specifically says Blow up, so I'm guessing some kind of gigantic explosive? Or some type of Death Star (Star Wars FTW!)? Maybe nuclear explosions? Who knows? But one thing is truly strange to me...
Why haven't they blown up Earth/Mars yet? What is it that they need so badly that they are willing to quite literally spend so many of their own kind?
Also, if they can blow up planets, why not just blow up the Earth along with the Tower and everything else? That way Guardians won't be meddling with their plans for Mars.
Any theories?
Edit: Wow! This post is blowing up!
(Badum Tss!)
We're trending! Thank you so much guys! This is fantastic! Keep the theories coming!

1 답변My guess is that Rasputin is one of the factors preventing them from destroying earth, thing is in control of an entire network of golden age weapons spanning the entire solar system, as powerful as the Cabal were they seem to have nowhere near the amount of fire power they used to. Ghost likely mentioned this because he wanted the Guardian to know how ruthless, and destructive the Cabal were when it came to war tactics.

There's something valuable on Mars that they're looking for. Same could apply to Earth, which is not currently "in their way." They also have their hands full with the Vex. Also, both Rasputin and the Traveller are currently protecting Earth, and Rasputin's influence has extended to Mars since the Array opened, where he's also been harassing the Cabal and Vex.

Because Dinkelbot's database is worse than an Atari and at BEST he offers vague intel, laced with slang terminology. Here's what I have on Gate Lords *searches endless database* Three stories tall. Chilling in and out of time. Time? That can't be right. Doctor Shim? Never mind that. *end of file* THANKS FOR THAT HEADS UP Fortunately for the Cabal, by the time they swivel their heads 180 degrees the planet will have moved through its orbit OUT of their way. Everything's in motion. They might have changed their minds.

2 답변작성자: DeusDominus 3/31/2015 1:50:54 PMThey can use psions to move/destroy planets via an amplified telekinesis weapon of some sort that they strap the psions into. My guess is much like Mars there is something of interest on earth that keeps all of the enemy faction from just doing away with Earth all together. Grimoire has a lot more info if tour interested. Edit:Also it's not their turn yet, they have to wait for their own DLC and Raid...

Salvage. Lost technology from the Traveller. Only one planet and humanity hasn't even reclaimed the planets in it's own solar systems. Likely biding their time to do a surgical strike. Once they have what they want then yeah. Game Over.

1 답변They don't view us as a threat. We've killed a few of their military leaders, but our numbers are so small that to a military machine like theirs, we're little more than an errant blip on the radar. We're a nuisance, but we're not damaging enough to worry about.
