A grimoire score under 2000 and I know the player does not have a lot of time in the game. Other than that it does not matter. Its good info to form a strategy around to beat the raid. Common problems with lower grimoire guardians in CE raid. 1) crystal room running around like Rambo and dies. 2) in ogre room after first ogre is dead either a) uses rockets while jumping and shoots into chains causing a wipe b) runs in front of other players with rocket launchers causing a wipe c) stands with a sniper rifle constantly in beam of 2nd ogre causing a wipe. 3) not having armor that heals 4) not knowing that class abilities heal 5) not having a red death or Suros 6) doesn't known how to avoid taking damage. 7) unleveled guns and armor. 8) no heavy ammo synths. And don't get me started on level 32 VoG virgins. If the player has a >2700 score I know that I don't have to worry about the player.

Here's a little story about grimoire: Once upon a time Level 30 was the level cap, and it was really hard to attain. Elitists liked to use their max level status to lord over others, both in he game and on the forums. Then the DLC came out and vendor gear surpassed their VoG raid gear and threw all their "status" out the window. Their worlds shattered around them as they witnessed "newbs" buying their way to Level 31. They realized max level was too fragile and temporary to be used as a tool to lord over their underlings. And the grimoire elitism was born. You are apparently not a good player unless you've grinded out thousands of kills with weapons you don't enjoy using, played a ton of PvP that you probably hate, or spent a few hours running around picking up ghosts. A few days ago I was sitting around 2050 grimoire. I've been playing since early November, around 250 hours, raided both raids numerous times and I'm a good teammate. My grimoire was "low" because I rarely play PvP and I hadn't bothered picking up the last 58 ghosts I needed because I always had better things to do with my time in the game. The other night I was bored and found the ghost tracker website and decided to spend a couple of hours picking up all the ghosts, more so because I wanted some new grimoire to read. Magically I went from 2050 grimoire to just over 2500. In the eyes of the elitists I went from a scrub to a good player in a couple of hours. Do they realize how stupid this is? I'm still the player I was before I picked up all the ghosts, the only difference is I know more of the lore and I've had to explore a few new areas to get them. Grimoire is just a number, you're either a good player or you're not. If Bungie ever gets rid of grimoire score I wonder what the elitists will use as their stat of greatness then?

It takes time to reach the grimoire I have. Time and skill is put into a high grimoire. The pvp side of it I believe is where you have to atleast be an average player. If you can't pvp.. chances are you aren't that good.

Indicates how much of the game you've played,and how long.This generally translates to a higher skill level,not always.

Unlike everything else in destiny, its the only variable that's not RNG. So basically your gm score kind of represents your skill, since you can't really say that its RNG. It means that the player has done more, so therefore they're more experienced and in a way- a better player.

High grimoire score = more experience. I'd rather have someone with a 2000+ grimoire score on my raid team than someone with a 1700 just because it means that the 1700 is new and might not know any raid mechanics or just doesn't have any good guns. The 1700 could be more skilled, but you can never be too careful when playing with randoms.

Since this game has No actual content, it's the only lore and information some gamers want.

Some people use the grimoire as a measuring stick of how good you are as a player when it's nothing of the sort. I was in a raid group with ransoms and the fire team leader refused to take anyone in to crotas end on hard with a grimoire score under 2200. One guy (a 32) joined from the forums with a grimoire score of 1800+ and was immediately branded a Christmas noob and was told he was going to get booted. A few of the fire team recognised the banner the player was using as the queens wrath banner so he'd been playing since the first couple of weeks but family and work meant his time was limited. The fireteam leader however had a score of 2400+, around 200 - 250 hours and openly bragged about playing after school and all weekend since he got the game. Bottom line is anyone can pick up ghosts, find golden chests and so on but shouldn't be used to say whether or not it makes you a good or bad player. I suck at PvP and I'm probably average at the pve and my grimoire is around 2700.

Means I just saw and know more than u about the game, easy.

Grimoire shows you how good at the game you are in my opinion, unless your a no life, which makes you good at the game in a bad way
