Why the Helm of Saint 14 isn't the best Titan Exotic.
I made a post in the Feedback section about Xur selling Ruin Wings today only to find out people seem to think the Helm of Saint 14 is better...really? Haha no. Here's a short list as to why.
Considering I have two versions of S-14 I know what I'm talking about so...let's address the first perk. Rain Blows...it increases your melee attack speed...yay...this isn't that great in my opinion. Inverse Shadow...Increased Super Energy when you kill a minion of Darkness...better...sure especially because this is an intellect based Helm. And of course, the main bonus that everyone loves, Starless Night...Your Ward of Dawn blinds enemies who enter it. Great bonus...awesome in fact....but not the best. 1. It is solely based on you having to use your Super to get the bonus. 2. It doesn't always stop things immediately. I've lost count of the number of times I've died in or around my bubble while the enemy was walking around blind...3. Easily countered in PvP. I'm not much for the PvP in Destiny but even I know how easy it is to counter a S-14 Ward of Dawn...just...don't go in it...or Titan Smash the -blam!-ing thing...
Now to the best for PvE...Ruin Wings.
I'm just gonna skip to the end and say...Heavy Ammo for days.
Do you get tired of buying Heavy Ammo synthesis? Sick of waiting for scrubs to do the Heavy Ammo glitch during the Crota Raid? NO MORE! Now, for 1 weekend only you can buy the Limited Edition "Ruin Wings" and get Heavy Ammo...well...basically whenever you want.
Yes, I'm exaggerating but my point stands. The reason these are better isn't simply because of that perk though...the fact that I don't have to be a Defender Titan to make full use of them is also a HUGE plus.
The same can be said about the [b]Armentarium...I[/b] think I spelled that right. The big bonus for that is 2 grenades. That means double Lightning grenades, double flashbang grenades, double every grenade in your arsenal...and you aren't required to be a Defender Titan to use it.
So stop being stupid. Pick up your Ruin Wings....TODAY
Update: I know the perk on Ruin Wings doesn't go off every time. Stop reminding me. Jeez.
Update 2: When Bungie decides to patch Ruin Wings and everyone gets Heavy all the time, let me redirect you to this post where half of you think Saint 14 is the God mode exotic...
Update 3: Jeez...3? Okay, yes Ruin Wings are absolute garbage in PvP. Now stop with your crying on my post. I'm pretty sure this is personal opinion. Oh wait...I forgot this is the internet/Destiny forum.
Update 4: Frankly I'm tired of replying to all of the crybabies defending the Helm of Saint 14. Want to know a secret? This post was made to see who can have a legitimate aargument against my completely irrational remarks concerning the 3 Titan Exotics I mentioned above. And, as expected, most of you resorted to whiny bullshit. [b]HOWEVER[/b] ,some of you were able to give me real reason why the Helm of Saint 14 is better than Ruin Wings.
But to the vast majority...I say...hahahahahahaha fools.
Update 5: Really? Are Exotics situational? I had [i]noooooooooo[/i] idea! What? I'm a condescending jackass? I had [i]nooooooooooo[/i] idea! :O
Update 6: This is the last one because frankly I'm tired of the butthurt crybabies. Thanks to the people who realized from the beginning I was messing with you. And also thank you to the people who didn't realize this fact (or did...idk) but still argued their case in a logical manner instead of shitting on my opinion. As to the rest of you...please take the time to read this final update before commenting. I have already heard nearly every possible argument against me and honestly, I don't care what you have to say about this post anymore. Feel free to comment. I know I won't be the only one laughing at you.

1 답변ruin wings are situational. yeah, it's super nice picking up 4 HoC rockets at once.. but I have more heavy ammo synths than I know what to do with, so heavy isn't a concern to be honest. plus they look garbage with almost any shader. I did get a good run in with em though. the chest piece (not even trying to spell it) is arguably better then s-14 because it's useful with each subclass/situation. but s-14 is (imo) absolutely the best titan exotic [i]helmet[/i] and makes defender much more fun in pve

1 답변IMO armamentarium is one of the best titan exotic armor pieces. And believe me I love me some ruin wings. Pretty much never take em off. Even if they don't work always they look -blam!-ing AWESOME. Had mine since right after the dlc dropped and have loved them ever since. Still though- arma is clutch as hell. Double nades and more heavy and secondary ammo. PvP I use arma always. High discipline with it equals lighting grenade spam on cap zones. Wish it looked less obtrusive though.

7 답변Let me start with this. I [b][i]DO NOT[/i][/b] believe the S-14 is the best titan exotic. However, Ruin Wings are GARBAGE. (Opinion) The perk only works once in a blue moon, and I can get more than enough of ALL ammo by simply playing intelligently.

4 답변You don't like it, it's your opinion, you died inside of your bubble because you were using weapons of light, if you were using armor of light you're immortal with saint 14, my ruin wings are ruined, they don't drop heavy ammo more often, I just get more ammo in each pack

Sure they could be amazing after a buff but that doesnt make them good right now Helm of saint 14 makes you borderline invincible inside your bubble especially when using armor of light and if youre using the extended time perk you can have almost endless bubbles(if your team is competent enough to use their super you could even use the convert incoming damage to orbs perk) *Im only talking about pve since neither exotic is very useful in pvp

작성자: TeKnoVKNG23 3/27/2015 11:06:43 PMTo counter you a bit, I prefer Armamentarium and Saint 14 over Ruin Wings, but mainly due to personal preference. Ruin Wings would be my 3rd best Titan Exotic. My perk on ruin wings either works or it doesn't. I either get a ton of heavy ammo packs I can't use, like 3-4 off the same mob, or no drops for 3/4ths of the mission. It isn't that great of a perk IMO. Saint-14 is ridiculous on a Defender. Rain Blows plays right into Force Barrier generating orbs for melee kills. Increased super from killing enemies. Pop bubble, blind enemies, go to town with melee and shotgun while your melee generates orbs as does your bubble. Watch as teammates pick up the orbs and pop them like candy and unleash supers, popping more orbs for you to eat like candy, rinse and repeat. When I get with people on strikes who actually know how to use their supers and generate orbs we absolutely annihilate the strike in 8-9 minutes. Omnigul is a blast now since we can have almost perma-super for everyone on the fireteam with enemies constantly blinded and fodder for Golden Gun/Nova Bomb etc. Ward of Dawn is also amazing on those really tough areas of strikes/raids where you can park your bubble over a door and blind all the majors before they come out. I strongly suggest people who haven't given Saint-14 a shot to set up their titan for an orb generation build, equip a good shotgun and bad juju, and go to freaking town. If you have good teammates to pop orbs for, everything dies so fast.

4 답변I think The Armamentrium is arguably better that St-14 and Ruin Wings. Having an additional grenade is priceless, it gives you a huge boost in deception and increases the amount of heavy ammo you can cary. Unlike St-14 is useful for both subclasses and unlike Ruin Wings it's awesome in PVE and PVP!

2 답변I wear my S-14 helm the first part of Crota...in the abyss. Fly past two lamps, drop weight at the third, fly past another lamp or two and pop the bubble. Thrall become blind, my team runs away with a nice health bonus to boot and no Thrall chasing us. Switch to my Ruin Wings for the fight after activating the crystal in Ir Yut's room. Heavy ammo bricks for days. Switch to my Insurmountable Skullfort for Crota. Regen health when I pick up the lovely orbs. That's a Titan using his head for more than a bullet sponge.
