Our challenge was to provide an increase in storage that fit within the memory constraints that limit how many items can be displayed on one screen.
What a crap excuse for not giving a much bigger and much needed increase to vault space.
Here's a solution that could have been thought up by a 4 year old: "Page scrolling"
Not to push the boat out or anything but if it really is just a RAM issue caused by displaying too many items at once, why not just have multiple pages and give us a much bigger increase that way?
This may be a decent enough upgrade fir now, in fact, by Bungies own admission it will be big enough to allow the collection of every exotic weapon up to and including HoW. But what then? Another measly upgrade to tie us over until the next DLC drops?
Seriously Bungie, patience is wearing very thin for a lot of people who are holding on until HoW drops. Unless big changes happen between now and then? Say goodbye to your fan-base after it's been completed...
EDIT: Also, having browsed the forums I'm seeing a lot of people reacting to the fact that it's a problem caused by wanting parity with last-gen consoles. Personally, I'm indifferent towards it, however I can sense a rift opening between current and last gen owners now. If it wasn't there before, then this is, at the very least a catalyst that will cause one. NOT a particularly smart move by Bungie...

Now I'm not much of a gamer, but I believe Skyrim, Borderlands 2 and Dark Souls 2 all have an insane vault space, and all of these games function just fine on old gen systems!
Seriously Bungie, patience is wearing very thin for a lot of people who are holding on until HoW drops. Unless big changes happen between now and then? People disagreeing with the OP must be -blam!-ing children I swear. Yes, the space is being added, and yes that's a good thing, but did you even read?? Do you contribute to these forums where numerous, well thought out solutions have been not only typed out but shown in demos? Bungie devs make themselves look like absolute amateurs.

8 답변You have never made a game before. Its much more complicated. If you really want me to explain, I will.

Not saying... but just saying back in the old days of pokemon on gameboy. The idea was to catch them all and hand endless space to store them... If a stupid Nintendo gameboy game can do it why the heck can't these guys. Smh

9 답변작성자: Andrenden 3/27/2015 1:19:56 PM-blam!-ing signed. I mean REALLY? They increase the vault by such a trivial amount. They have all these different shaders and ships to collect and you can't do that because of the limitation of the item area of the vault, which takes FAR more items into its category that either the weapons or armor. And they increase it by FOUR(4?!?) slots? I don't care if it's a limitation of items able to be displayed. I don't need them all displayed at once. What I do need is a place to STORE all the damn things. I don't even want the current vault upgrade. Why would I want a slap in the fav before they get it right?
edited a spoiler just to call you an idiot
Honestly if you think a majority of destiny players are going to stop playing because of vault space & waiting for HoW your delusional. Just because everyone on these forums wears the game out doesnt mean everyone has. And the forums community is a small percent of the destiny population.

9 답변Bro y'all complain that there isn't enough vault space and now that bungie says they are going to fix it you complain even more. Wow

It's better than nothing if bungie didn't add vault space you would still be crying but they listened to your cries and added more vault space and your still complaining what a joke I'm actually thankful on what I have

1 답변Disclaimer: i know nothing of database design or making video games. Rage: Wtf only 4 additional armor slots? Yay huge space boost for us... Reasonable reaction: Memory constraints limit how many items can be displayed? But the pause screen can display 50 pieces of armor! (And only 30 guns..) from a single menu that includes our 3d character model. The vault issue must then be 1. Poor planning from the start making it too big of a game file whatever to run smoothly. Or 2. Attempting to do to much with a single screen because appearance or seamless game play were made a priority over functionality.

5 답변I was ready to be pretty disappointed with their "vault space fix" at the beginning of the update, but it did seem clear that they know this is just a quick fix, not a permanent solution. I expect that eventually they will add whole, separate pages for each item type. I can't help but notice that there are three vault pillars in the tower, how would people feel if each one was separate and loaded a full page of item storage? One for armor, one for weapons, and another for miscellaneous.
