Hey, Xur is just working the black market to make a living, he uses those strange coins to provide for his family, us buying from him is his income, he's just another business owner trying to make something of himself. "I earned my Red Death!" No, you found it, i purchased it from a local business and am helping the economy by doing so. The money stays in the community, just like the real world. Side theory: You know how we get strange coins from engrams? Maybe the cryptarch has a secret stash of exotic engrams for Xur and Xur buys them from him using the SCs. Just like a real life distributor.

Xur and the postmaster and the cryptarc all have a little deal. When we exchange our coins for his gear he then goes to the cryptarc. Xur gives him coins to decode his exotic engrams for gear for the next week. Then the cryptarc goes to the postmaster and gives her coins in exchange for her legendary engrams, so she only has blues for us most of the time. And the cycle goes on forever...

He puts them into a strange machine. He really wants that strange orb with the strange writing. But the strange crane hand just slips off right as he about to grab it...EVERY FREAKING TIME.! So he needs more strange coins until he can master that strange machine.

The coins are some form of a power source scattered across the universe. In small amounts, they are worthless. Brought together they form something more powerful than anything in the universe. This is why the nine is collecting them and selling us powerful weapons for them. Even with all the gjallahorns ever made they cannot be defeated.

작성자: Nojon1 3/25/2015 2:59:27 AMXur, the lovely tentacle faced creature we all know and loathe/love, is serving a higher purpose, the nine. The nine being a collective of alien species from across the galaxy to form a "counsel" of sorts with a chosen leader from the 9 alien species. Now xur is not one of these high counsel creatures, he is more like an advisor to the counsel. His job is to collect blueprints of exotic items across the universe, recreate them, improv them, and sell them. And for what? Strange coins, why are they strange.? Because to us regular guardians we cannot comprehend the importance and power of these coins. Coins holding different power to different species/sentient creatures of the counsel. The coins together create great sources of energy, powering fallen servitors and spaceships, creating energy for fallen ogre brith rituals, creating power links for vex minds to link with vex infantry, powering life support and battle equipment for awoken in the reef, and used for creating energy for cabal gravity suits, powering Exo system wipes, the speaker also uses the energy from these coins to create motes of light, enough Strange coins can be harnessed with enough power for the creation of movable light, which is also why it is a currency for his items sold, the speaker in turn also finds exotic engrams during his excursions for marks, bonds, and cloaks, and gives them to xur to sell for motes of light, as to not raise suspicion. And he uses these notes of light to slowly restore the traveler to its former glory. And unbeknownst to anyone (even i) the species of creatures that xur belongs to, have their own plans for the future....

작성자: Selenophobia 3/25/2015 2:55:49 AMYou see, Xür is an agent of the nine, we do not know what the nine are exactly but we know they aren't coins. Wait? Coins? Yes. Coins. You see no one has made a coin with a value of 9, that's just stupid and so they feel stupid down in Xür-land. How to fix this you ask? The first thing that comes to mind is male a coin's worth 9 but that is just too damn easy, Xür you see is a tentacle man of business and can't do dumb shit like that, so what's left idea wise? Exactly, the bank of Xür, where he stores and wraps coins in rolls of nine! So much more creative than a coin worth nine somethings... Would it be worth 9 strangers... Oh well we can save that for later anyways back to the matter at hand. Xür being the extravagant business man he is goes to his "Clientele " whether it be phogoth, valus, or even sepiks, he then trades the coins for exotic items in the rolls of nine, guardians then go and steal the coins and start it all over again. In the end Xür sells his rolls of nine coins for exotics, he then sells those to guardians or does upgrade trades to keep the guardians happy, either way he makes his cash moneys like so. He may not have been the first skilled man of business, but he's certainly fabulous at it.. But wait? Where do the bosses get their exotics to sell? You guessed it, from dead guardians, they simply copy the weapons using their golden age scanners and printers, wait? What? You didn't know they could do that? How do you think rahool has an infinite supply of rare treasures from the golden age? He just hands you a copied item and then later opens your actual engrams to see if he can get anything good... Dammit rahool... One more thing... Where does he get his shards? You see exotics like organic food have expectation dates, hence he can only sell certain items for two days, so what does he do with the rotten disgusting exotics? He breaks em down and sells that slop as a leftover for next week. This is the story of the creative and fabulous tentacle man of business, Xür. (People with ghorns don't die in the strikes so the clientele have none to sell to Xür)

Xur takes the coins and spends them all on xbox live cards. These cards he sells to microsoft. Microsoft sells these cards at stores. All the money is centered at Xur. Xur takes the money earned to pre-order Destiny 2. Xur then leaks details 3 weeks before release. Uses extra money for hot tub and glorious Vex butlers. And lets not forget invite Greg and Randal to a pool party. Thats when people realize the truth and dismantle all their coins. Xur then proceeds to become a cleaning robot npc because of his loss in money.
