What does the PS have that the Xbox doesn't? Other than let down exclusives and bad customer support. Sure the PS has a few extra pixels to show but is it worth it when you can only play a few times a month?
Devs enjoy developing on PS4 more than X1. That means cross platform games will run smoother and be better quality on PS4.
That was the main deciding factor for me going to PS4. It was the same primary factor on last gen why I gamed on the 360 (devs much prefered 360 to PS3).
I have no loyalty to Sony or MS. But man I'm glad I went PS4. Every cross platform release performs better and runs smoother.
Never had an issue outside of holiday 2014 getting online and gaming either. PSN works great for me. So the "network" argument is a non-issue from my perspective.
Should probably decide based off of friends and what design you like more, would you rather have a beautiful xbox one controller or an uncomfortable ps4 controller
I think the 360 controller is the pinnacle of controller greatness (again, personal preferance).
When testing X1 vs PS4 the PS4 controller was a deciding factor for me. The ergonomics of the X1 are way better, no doubt. But the sticks were uncomfortably small and felt loose on the X1 (which is my biggest pet peeve).
The PS4 controller sticks were tighter and much improved from the PS3 sticks. So I give the edge to the PS4 controller compared to X1.
Am I in the minority on that decision? Yeah, most likely I am. But hey, works for me.
And I was first of my group of friends to migrate to this gen so that wasn't a factor. All of them ended up going PS4 also (all previously 360 gamers). So it all shook out in the end.
I've never had a problem with my games running smoothly. Honestly 1080p over 980p isn't a deciding factor for me. Customer service and reliability are.
So what I'm taking away from this exchange is the following:
You're happy with X1, I'm happy with PS4, and we're both right (in the ways that matter to us individually).
See? Who says you can't have a win-win.
