Coming from a waterfowl hunter and outdoorsman's position, I've probably pulled the trigger on firearms in real life more than in destiny.
My question is this: why when you reload whatever semi automatic shotgun you have equipped with more than 0 rounds in the clip does your guardian insist on utilizing the pump action on the gun as the final step in reload?
The pump action on a shotgun is a manual cycling mechanism. It allows you to expel what is currently in the chamber and moves the next active round into piston.
When this is a semi automatic function, some of the gas and force created by firing the load goes into the mechanism that expels the spent load and cycles in a new one.
So if you had say, one shot left in the chamber on your shotgun, you would feed the shells into the tube, and that would be the end of it, because it is the act of shooting for the round in the firing chamber that cycles the next one in.
To put it simply your guardian should be dropping a perfectly good shotgun shell every time he re loads his shotgun (if it's not totally empty)
If it were in fact without any ammunition in any portion of the apparatus, the current method of reload would make sense. You load however many shells into the tube and must cycle one into the chamber.
Players paying attention to this mechanic would understand that there is a benefit to diligently monitoring their ammo consumption, because it shortens their reload time if they don't let it get all the way empty....

2 답변You don't see the green ammo boxes on the ground behind you after you reload? I did and made sure to pick it up. Seriously, the animations for all of the guns reloading are mostly flawed, you wouldn't have to "charge" any gun that has a bullet in the chamber would you. What's with the Hawkmoon being semi auto, but reloads like a revolver? Couldn't bungie have made an animation were your loading a new magazine in the gun? Should I go on?
satire, I don't think they were going for 100% accuracy, do you?
Semantics, I know, but since you're making a point for realism: - Shotguns have magazines - Handguns/Pistols have magazines - Rifles have magazines Modern military weapons (post-WW1) have all gone to mags. Doesn't matter if they're semi-auto, select-fire, pump-action, bolt-action or otherwise. The M1 Garand used a clip for its internal magazine, then later went to mags for the M-14. Unless you are referring to a "stripper clip" to quickly reload an empty mag for an AR-15, or to reload an M-14 with the mag in place, it is the wrong use of the word. There is a type of cylindrical "stripper clip" to reload revolvers quickly, which most first-person shooters use, but again, this is the wrong use of the word. Otherwise you are correct about the semi-auto shotgun reloading. However, with how long it takes to complete that process in-game already I'd rather not add another element to it. I don't need to see it putting a shell in the chamber, closing the bolt, then loading new shells in the tube mag. Too much time. Yes, it's true if you have a live shell in the chamber of a pump you don't need to pump again after reloading the mag. You're just wasting a shot. This would be a nice addition to the process if any game developer took this in to account. I rarely use shotguns in games so maybe someone has.

Nobody is supposed to really care, I think OP is just pointing out that it's funny that they don't check on these things when making a game. The unrealistic thing is a cop out when discussing real world objects. It's kinda funny. Not that I care.

10 답변작성자: BMW E86 3/18/2015 7:34:53 PMWhy did you call the tube a clip? Shotguns don't have clips (except for something like a Saiga). Plus it is the same for a lot of the weapons. Auto/semi auto you don't have to "cock" it if you drop the mag and put a new one in with a round in the chamber. I think you are over thinking it.

Its not just shotguns. When reloading auto rifles, pulse rifles, scout rifles, and sniper rifles the guardian replaces the magazine and procedes to pull the charging handle to expel the cartrage from the chamber no matter if its live or not.
