I think he will be something totally new.
Edit 1: love these ideas! A few people have mentioned that Rahool is Oryx. Frankly with that Easter egg in the Skywatch I am starting to believe it.

Think about Greek Mythology for a moment. Tartarus is the the realm below Hades' Underworld. This is the realm where all monsters and evil beings reside after being slayed. But that realm is the actual god Tartarus himself. It is the body of him. Essentially re-birthing monsters that have fallen in battle. He acts not only as a realm for monsters to roam, but as a sort of manufacturer for new monsters and reconstructing the old ones. He rarely shows himself as his full, physical form, because he possesses power that well exceeds that of a normal god. Tartarus is one of the 3 primordial deities, next to Chaos and Gaia. In the presence of the physical form of any one of those beings, death would be inevitable. What if Oryx is like Tartarus? He not only acts as the god above Crota, but as the physical entity of the hive world itself? What if every time a ship travels through this rift, essentially a bridge between the hive's world and our own, it is Oryx pushing out a new wave of enemies? Maybe Oryx is one of the primordial deities of the universe. He helped create the universes in which us guardians interact with during our endless war with the Darkness. This would mean Oryx would be almost impossible to summon, and defeating him would be a feat that only the most elite group of guardians could accomplish. Edit: Holy Comments. I guess some people like this idea

Everyone picture the eyes of crota, compared to actual crota- by eyes i mean the acolytes we kill from eris questline. Now imagine Sardok, from shrine of Oryx. Sardok is the eyes of Oryx. That should allow us a hint into the size of Oryx. Cant wait.

If you read the Crota son of oryx grimoire card it states that there is a possibility that hive netherworlds are linked to vex gates. On the shrine of oryx mission the ghost states that the shrine I connected to a power far outside of the solar system. Grimoire cards state that vex weapons gain their power source outside of the system as well. The vex and hive have also be shown not to be fighting each other. Maybe oryx is the darkness and is viewed differently by different races. To the hive he is a god.
