I've ran sword on hard mode quite a bit. And I've joined a lot of games where they desperately need a swordbearer because they're all too afraid to put down their precious gjallarhorns and just try it. I've put about 800 hours into this game and have yet to drop a Gally, or even a Hunger. I'm still rocking a tracking Admonisher III. So it kinda makes me angry when I join a game and I hear "Kick him, he doesn't have Gjallarhorn.", "Nah it's okay he's running sword."
I've started immediately leaving games that pull this shit. You don't even need 1 Gjallarhorn to take down Crota. I admit, I've been in games where everyone is using one, and it makes it pretty damn easy to down him 3 times in one go. But it is absolutely not necessary. I joined a group of guys that warned me that they were gonna use nothing but Dragonsbreath to test the effectiveness vs gally and I was all for it. We killed him first try, no wipes. That's faster than most of the runs I get in with Gally elitists. I also helped out a group of friends who had freshly made 32, but none of them had any tracking rockets, or even exotic rockets. One guy only had a blue rocket. I told them we were gonna get it done, and told everybody to rock Ice Breaker. 3rd wipe in, we beat him, and 2 of them got Gally. One of the best moments I've had in this game to be honest.
Just stop being tools about a game ran by an RNG and help out the people that haven't been as lucky as you are.

7 답변작성자: Kavod556 3/13/2015 9:05:55 PMThis is a great illustration of the lack of skill and knowledge displayed by certain players. Crota's shield can be taken down using just primaries and secondaries even though it takes a little longer to accomplish on hard mode. I don't have any tracking RL's and I don't know that I'd use a Ghorn in place of my Ice Breaker which is a far more versatile and potent weapon based on my play style. Yes, the Ghorn is highly prized and rightly so but it isn't all that versatile nor would I want to use an exotic slot for it outside of certain situations (I'm not convinced that it is a must have for the Raids).

Well.. I think you're missing the real reason they kicked you. The skill of a destiny player, is for some odd reason, determined by the possession (or lack ) of a gally. You have put 800 hours into this game building your physical skill and understanding of the game. While mr lvl 32 swagmaster1337kush put 20 hours into the game, got a gjallarhorn, and is instantly better than you (in everyone elses eyes). And as evilmonky said, people who know what they're doing don't wait for the wolf pack. What makes "gjallarhorn" "gjallarhorn", is the Wolfpack. When I first got my gjallarhorn, lvl 32's were getting kicked from Crota in order for my lvl 31 ass to join. When in reality, a maxed hunger is way more effective than a stock gally. when I two man crota, the gally is definitely nice. But with a whole team, it doesn't even matter.

2 답변how about when a group asks for a sword bearer. you step up . boomers get you because group doesn't distract the boomers. then someone says enough, I'll run the sword. he dies three times picking up sword from thrall and once from boomers. I exited. didn't feel like shooting at the the boomers for him. figured if they didn't know you need to distract the boomers than it was going to be a long raid.

I hate to say it but the ones I have come across that are like that are 20 and under and do nothing but play Destiny all day. They think they are gods, when you play all day every day for weeks of course you will get more drops. It's a game, I have fun and laugh with most the people I play with. My first VOG took 4 hours and not one person was rude or complained.

2 답변I don't run CUZ I have some weird essence about me I guess where all the boomers, Knights, thralls, and acolytes have to attack me all at the same time, and also I get the crota getting up as soon as sword bearer is close enough to kill before running away glitch a lot.
-
never heard anyone say that, if you're playing with a bunch of scrubs then don't bother playing with that group. hard mode is so easy now, you don't even need heavy with a decent team that know what to do. in fact hard mode crota wasn't meant to be standing on a ledge ignoring boomers/wizards/thralls so god bless and thank bungie for somehow letting it slide.

3 답변OMG. Same thing happens to me! I've been playing since beta and still only have a Tracking Radegast's Fury!!!!!! It pisses me off that people pull shit like that :/

I feel bad for people in your situation, the Destiny community tends to breed these attitudes for some reason, because of a certain want....I run Crota/Aetheons with my family and their friends and it was a blast learning the ropes without Ghorn (one person had it in our clan of 10 people). We tolerated the fails together and laugh through it...truth and any tracking rocket launcher did a great job, we were happy. Now that the majority of us have GHorn, eh....I mean we breeze through it, but the challenging part was the fun part...taking Crota down with limited resources.

2 답변I have encountered the same attitude. And more often than not when you encounter some who wants to kick you for not having ghorn its because they suck and its the only way they can succeed is for everyone else to carry them. Shitty players use ghorn as a crutch. I have been in several groups where we cleared hard mode crota with no ghorns. And then last week I joined a group where everyone but me had one and yet when it came time to down Crota those idiots were too busy shooting thralls, boomers, etc. Gjallarhorn does not make you a good player, it makes certain encounters easier, but it is not mandatory. I hope Xur does sell it again some day so everyone that has terrible luck with RNG can buy it and the elitists will cry because they aren't "special" anymore.

작성자: xxEVILMONKYxx 3/13/2015 8:43:44 PMAny good team dealing optimal damage with sword will NEVER, I repeat, NEVER wait for the Wolfpack rounds to hit with a full Fireteam. I start my combo with sword as soon as I see the initial rocket salvo hit. Similar to the situation of pre-firing rockets on second break. It's better to have 1 person call for rockets every time to keep things coordinated rather than have them trickle in. The only time "Gjallarhorn Only" is reasonable is if they are carrying a lower level / someone without tracking rockets. I agree with asking for certain classes however, always good to have a good spread when there's so many options on LFG.

Yeah teams just need to be on point and all on the same page. It's dumb how some people judge their fireteam based on the items they got. I can care less if my fireteam have Ghorn or not, as long as they have some type of rockets though(I don't have a team that's really that good lol). But i always run Ghorn anyways, so i don't really come across these problems too much, got Ghorn since week 1 of destiny, its my baby, been using it ever since for everything.
