Video of FF14 party finding , something what destiny needs , its not rocket science , all that bungie needs to do is to take lessons from established social games , no need to reinvent the wheel

i really dont understand this decision, if they finally realized after 5 months the game is lacking matchmaking for the most significant activities , why do they only add it to weekly heroic but not nightfall and raid ? this doesnt make any sense , til now i though they are just lazy to make the game convenient , but not i get the feeling they dont understand the needs of players at all
easy solution: add a party finder to the game which lets you join anyone that has the party set to PUBLIC for the activity you want , host would just need to start the strike/raid , set party to PUBLIC , set the minimum required level and classes (in a additional menu that doesnt exist yet) and people who want to join get a list of PUBLIC parties they eligible to join or get quick joined to a party that has room
This is why we really need matchmaking :
DESTINY:
1.) turn on console
2.) start destiny
3.) decide to raid
4.) go away from console
5.) start your laptop
6.) go to bungie recruitment forum
7.) spam forum with party requests
8.) go back to console to check if any reply came
9.) If no party reply came repeat steps 4-8
10.) finally start a raid with random people
11.) when not needed anymore receive tons of new party replies
12.) if someone ragequits and party disbands repeat steps 4-10
Other games:
1.) start game
2.) start matchmaking
3.) Play
EDIT: added a video of final fantasy 14 party finder , this destroys any of the most common pseudo arguments against ingame matchmaking , it wasnt there from the beginning of the game but Square listened to player feedback and helped out , not everyone used it , static teams kept doing the same what they did , but others less fortunate people welcomed that feature
LAST EDIT: thanks all for participating in this thread , i got some insight in your opinions and i value that , i just wish people would stop resorting to insults when posting , it just creates a negative atmosphere and its harder to have a good discussion , but i guess some people cant express in a different way
ENJOY YOUR DESTINY / SEE YA :D

작성자: hh31976 3/20/2015 2:05:26 AMNot saying optional should not be mandatory, although I have never failed the weekly heroic , even with randoms since the matchmaking started!!There have been times I soloed the nightfall and think matchmaking would be good for the nightfall as well, but think communication is a absolute must for the raids,so please make it OPTIONAL!!

32 답변There shouldn't be Matchmaking at all. They should add a premade group finder and that's about it. Get a Group yourself you lazy bastards. Form friendships and make actual plans to raid and commit to raid times. Make a damn clan or join one even. Stop making the game worse for Solo players and for players who Duo everything. Stop being lazy and get your sh*t together. If they implement LFR for Raids I think it shouldn't drop Loot. You aren't doing the work of getting a top notch group together, you don't deserve to be rewarded for your laziness.

5 답변What irritates me is that I want the option to NOT do match making. Sometimes me and my buddy and run it ourselves or, if it's easy, I can solo it. I don't want to lose that option. Seriously? How can they have NO matchmaking, then add it and REMOVE my ability to not match? The option to go in with just your fireteam should be on all strikes. In fact, all missions, strikes, raids, etc. should have the ability to matchmake or go in with just your fireteam. Really. How hard is that? Sometimes, I don't want the pressure of dealing with other players. I might want to take my time, kill all the early guys, fool around in some section. But, when you force matchmaking on me, I have to be a team player.

작성자: erakis1 2/23/2015 3:51:25 PMIf they add matchmaking for raids and nightfalls, many people would quit. There are already too many AFKers and trolls on strike playlists and the crucible. Carrying them through endgame content or dealing with the infinite oversouls would break the game. I've dealt with some bad LFG groups, but they at least know enough about the game to do LFG and there is a relative guarantee that they will communicate. A bad LFG group will probably be better than a good matchmade group. ETA: I forgot the most important part. You can boot people from pre-made fireteams

I would use raid and nightfall matchmaking and the second someone came across with a bossy know it all attitude, like 95% of the people on these forums, i would troll. Push off cliffs/ledges, purposly wipe with the relic, lota of afk, lots of "thought you knew how to do this" after purposely sabotaging..... And i am one of the good guys. There are people who would set out to troll anyone and everyone.

3 답변The party finder was awesome in FF14, except the waiting times because of the flood of DPS players over tanks and healers But the point is it still worked. I have added so many people to my list and sometimes I get invited by people other times they've already ran the raids do I can't do them It means I've constantly got to be adding people who I'll only play with once, sometimes they are unable to stay alive and it causes problems But I'd rather have these problems arise with match making rather than waiting half an hour for everyone to get their gear ready and switch their stuff over to whatever character they need to pick Matchmaking would help that and sure we might fail but more often than not we will succeed. FF14 has proven this and it is much less forgiving in their raids and dungeons

작성자: ValorNDarkness 2/21/2015 3:50:13 PMGet a smartphone and snap friends on Xbox one do all of your steps while in front of your controller and console and while still communicating with current party members They didn't add matchmaking to Nightfalls because you'd have to matchmake everytime you fail a nightfall and you play with random EVERYTIME. Imagine trying to play the nightfall getting paired with 2 mic-less ppl. Party dies, return to orbit get paired with 2 NEW mic-less ppl. Rinse and repeat. That process is much more annoying than your ridiculous list which can all be done from a smartphone while you're in the middle of a game even

My only concern is AFK-ers looking for an easy 9 strange coins. I solo weeklies so its not a big deal, but still with more than one in the team we should be able to get it done much faster if everyone contributes. But i guess this applies if they have matchmaking for Nightfalls as well. What Bungie should have done IMO is to address the issue of AFK-ers first, before implementing this system. And yeah, I'd have preferred it if they made matchmaking optional, because i like the challenge of soloing and its kinda therapeutic for me lol.

2 답변I wish there was an OPTION!! Just tick a box to enable matchmaking on the Weekly and/or Nightfall. Sometimes I like to just do the Weekly by myself. I don't always want to have to group with people.

1 답변작성자: Lefornicator 2/20/2015 8:20:05 PMPerhaps they keep it this way for hits. Any destiny article I see has people looking for a group. And a way to promote and keep the destiny name flying ✈ all over the Internet.oi

1 답변There are way too many people that are terrible players or have terrible equipment. At least on lfg I can kind of weed them out and the hassle of finding a group is a little bit of a barrier for bad/not serious people. I shudder to think of the quality of people that would be infecting raid groups when it's totally convenient for them to jump in and waste other people's time.
