I feel that as soon as you are working with raid gear shards are pointless. Now they are great for everyone working their way to that point but I am finding more fault with the radiant shards which only drop in the raid and if you have rank 4 with Eris, which I have yet to achieve and I have been working on it since January every day. I have the full set of raid gear and can't get to 32 fast enough because I can only raid once a week (working in trying to get into the hard raid which will help) I just feel that things like the omnigal strikes should drop these materials. The other strikes should still drop the ascendant material but the new content should also drop radiant material besides the raid (it can be an infrequent drop but it would help). Just to be clear I am not meaning to complain that I am only at 31, if I had played in December I would have been at 32 by now. I just feel that there should be other chances for radiant materials.

I personally have never gotten shards from a nightfall (lucky I guess) but I know how badly it would piss me off if I did. Nightfall is a challenge even at max level and it's a slap in the face to get shards or rare engrams as a reward. I've gotten rare engrams from the weekly and even that I think it's dumb since you can only do it once a week.
