Last night I watched Nymphomaniac Volume II* wherein the main character, Joe, at one stage works as an extorter using her knowledge and practice of BDSM to get people to pay up. It was essentially torture. One target was a man who she nor her "helpers" could initially influence through violence (breaking his belongings), so she had him seated while she recited various sexually erotic fantasies to find out which one made him "break" so-to-speak (the scene is much more explicit than it's being described here). In retrospect, Joe explains how she was getting frustrated that none of them "worked" until the last: a story of a man noticing a boy on a swing set and "taking him home", which causes the man such immense psychological strain that he cracks and agrees to pay.
While explaining this story to another man, Seligman, who she has been conversing with, she says the following:
Joe: Listen to me. This is a man who had succeeded in repressing his own desire, who had never before given into it right up until I forced it out. He had lived a life full of denial and had never hurt a soul. I think that's laudable.

Seligman: No matter how much I try, I can't find anything laudable in pedophilia.

Joe: That's because you think about the, perhaps 5% who actually hurt children. The remaining 95% never live out their fantasies. Think about their suffering. Sexuality is the strongest force in human beings. To be born with a forbidden sexuality must be agonizing. The pedophile who manages to get through life with the shame of his desire, while never acting on it, deserves a bloody medal.
Given the final quote in particular, what do you think?
*not a movie you should be watching if you're easily traumatised

6 답변작성자: BIG IRON ENERGY 6/9/2015 2:18:24 PMJesus Christ Daz, you belong in a Knife Drawer with edgy subjects like this. before I give my opinion, know that I will not change it. I will not say my opinion is right, and you all have the right to disagree with mine as I may disagree with yours. with that out the way, here's what I think: if a child molester has been through the justice system multiple times, and it is confirmed by a medical professional that they are mentally unstable and have no control of their urges, AND are likely to act upon their tendencies (in other words, if it is pretty much Certain that they will try to molest a child, and if they show ZERO remorse or empathy for their previous actions), THEN and ONLY THEN, is execution a viable option in order to prevent a further tragedy a lot of you will say "but if you want this person dead, because of their urges, what makes you better than them?". I think those who say this seem to overestimate the value of human life. and if we're going to talk empathy, what would YOU do? what would YOU do if a child molester, a seriously deranged child molester unfit for society kidnapped and molested your children? would you want to waste tax money looking after them in a hospital? if you truly love and value your family, you would do anything for them, even if it means being willing to kill. maybe it doesn't justify it, but you should look at this from both sides; the child molester who cannot control his urges, and that of a parent. if, on the other hand, it is someone who has the potential to be cured, or have their tendencies suppressed, or be treated in any way, then I agree that death is not an option. capital punishment should only be reserved for the worst offenders, and even then, ALL other options should have been explored. this topic is a minefield. apologies if I stepped on a few, but this was not an easy topic for me to reply to. and if you think I'm bad, be grateful this is me and not my highly opinionated relatives typing this. TL;DR: it ultimately depends on the behaviour of the individual.

1 답변I said this before to someone arguing gays rights. It use to be OK after age 12 when children become mature but humans are the only mammal that waits six years after maturing to breed. But people are still fine punishing an innocent person just because what they like.

10 답변작성자: Sheeeks 6/8/2015 3:15:33 PMNah wether they act upon it or not they should be shot in the back of the heads, im sorry but even wanting to deserves for you to be -blam!-ing shot. When someone looks at your girlfriend, you know why he is looking and you get the ump right? Imaging a full grown man, looking at your little 3 year old child in the same way, i dont have kids yet but i can assure you now if that ever happened, i would not be able to control myself and i would kill them

3 답변Funny how the majority of people will defend people who get depression and say it's not their fault, but they immediately walk the other way when it comes to pedophilia.

8 답변작성자: Demagogue 2/19/2015 5:23:25 PMAll the stigma around pedophiles does is amplify the issue. You go around talking about how pedophiles are monsters and they should be killed? Great, now all the pedophiles hate themselves and are scared for their lives. They certainly won't try to get help from anyone, which means they're that much more likely to end up -blam!- someone or killing themselves. TL;DR- Congrats on promoting suicide and child molestation.
