Bungie is planning to nerf the auto rifles again by 2.5% because people aren't using the crappy pulse rifles. Maybe if the pulse rifles were designed better in the first place we would want to use. But no, we are stuck with "Bungie Logic" and that dictates ruining something that works to promote something that doesn't. This is the same logic that forces us to use a third party website to find a raid team full of randos, because having match making would just stick us with randos and we wouldn't be able to use team tactics to beat aetheon. Even though they destroyed our tactics by making who got teleported random. Well I'll be looking forward to the future bad decisions Bungie makes in the coming months. Keep grinding.

They change it because they want all weapons to be used, dependent on your range. what's the point in using a scout rifle or a sniper rifle when you can hit someone just as far away with an AR or hand cannon! As for the Atheon argument, its to force everyone to know what to do, just mixes it up.

14 通の返信What bothers me is this patch being applied to PvE as well. Their own data shows that autos are used 2% more than scouts and scouts 3% more than hand cannons. That's a balanced spread excluding pulse rifles. Yet because PvP data is lop sided they hit the already gimped auto rifles in PvE yet again. Autos haven't compared to scouts and hand cannons since the first nerf (except for abyss defiant) and now even the abyss won't be anything worth using. Bungie wake up and listen to your own data. Learn from your mistakes. And quit prioritizing PvP to the point that you destroy PvE in the process. Nerf separately if you must nerf, your own data shows PvE needs no auto rifle nerf.

46 通の返信Bungie, i am happy to say i have found a better game -blam!- you. The idea of a rifle is to be used at long range. Submachine guns are used at close range to medium range. Just so you spastics know! Shot guns shoot further then a foot. Your pulse rifles suck dick, you should have made them have the range and damage of a just a touch less than scout rifle. Look at the m16 from black ops 1 for inspiration. For -blam!- sake! contact me I'll write you a -blam!-ing story that will sell and wont be cliché. And I'll make give you ideas for for better weaponry. You over the hill, former glory living mother-blam!-ers. sorry about the hate, but who the -blam!- are you listening to when you make these brash changes.

42 通の返信I guess you didn't read the part where they were reducing damage (primarily) at long distances. Also they're increasing pulse rifle damage by 9%(idc about that extra decimal) so they aren't "nerfing" the auto rifles to get people to use pulse rifles they're nerfing them bc they're too effective at long range (primarily SUROS). They're increasing pulse rifle damage to make people want to use them. Lol why can't people understand the nerf system.

There are currently 3 distinct archetypes of auto rifle. Low impact (LI), Low-Medium impact (LMI) and High impact (HI) The math for the nerf most likely looks like this: [u][ (0.025 - x1) + (0.025 - x2) + (0.025 +x3)] [/u] / 3 = 0.025 IOW: the high impact ARs are getting the 2.5% plus the difference between 2.5% and whatever the other ARs nerf is. Expect SUROS' nerf to be closer to 4% then 2.5%.

8 通の返信Just one question... When was the last time any government/military nerfed a gun in real life? I know it's all fantasy but it has to be based on some real word facts so people can relate. Also in the real world there is an option to change to burst fire or single shot. Maybe hey should have combined pulse and scout rifles and come up with a different sub class of weapon i.e. Sub machine guns.
