Sword carriers and relic holders
Question. Why are so many players such lazy ass wipes? Refuseing to learn or even try the relic items. Excuses like " i have jellyhorn" or "i'm not a hunter" abound among other things. Hell, even hunters say it too. Always some wack reason and no effort. Then they get mad when you don't get 18 hits on crota in one sword use or some other rediculous feat.
My two cents.
Any other gardians feel some type of way about this?

4 通の返信I ALWAYS grab the relic in VoG. It's fun honestly. Same with the sword. I can and have ran sword on each class (have 1 of each). People that won't try the sword need to stfu with the crying if someone new actually TRIES and wipes a few times. It takes practice. As far as the relic in VoG, same thing. IT TAKES PRACTICE! Don't be scared of it :)

I would like to be able to run both. I'm average with vog but have never run the sword. I grab the relic when I can, but in my experience people tend to get pretty impatient and crack the shits at you for having a go and dying

In my team I'm both swordbearer and relic holder. I didn't enjoy at first but someone has to do it, and hell, then I'll be the best. And now I like it. All in a team has their jobs, and I'm proud of mine. And for my team it works as a charm.

I prefer to grab the relic since I'm the only one in my group who has no VOG weapons. I'm better using the relic. Crota's End I don't run the sword because someone in my group has a huge ego. I'd rather not hurt that. Lol

I can get the relic, but I'm better in killing those praetorians, when my team is going to kill the templar I always say: I can use the relic. In CE I only use my hunter to get the sword, if I'm not getting the sword I change to titan or warlock

It is very annoying. People that go "I don't know how to use the relic". You know how I found out? I looked it up and I asked people. Then I picked it up and used it. Super simple stuff. If you can use the relic you can use the sword. Hell, if you've done the bloody sword of crota mission you can use the sword. The only hard part is based on the rest of the fireteam not being idiots. After that, get your timing. No problem.

I'm still amazed that people are scared of the relic in vog. It's been like 5 months 0_o As for the sword I tend to raid with a few guys who really fancy themselves and won't let anyone else use it so last week I ditched that group for one that needed a swordbearer. Killed Crota on my 2nd attempt. It's not difficult it's finding a group that will let you try it that's difficult.

I usually tend to adjust my role to compliment everyone else, if no one can be a sword/relic runner, then ill do just that, if we have a sword/relic runner and are low on boss damage, ill adjust to massive single target damage loadouts, if there is something that needs to be held off, I change to a loadout I can use in a drawn out fight, there are a lot of people who are lazy but the ones like me, who make the group work by being there to tie up the loose ends is what matters most, I can't change another persons gameplay but I CAN tweak my gameplay to make it work

I have all 3 character classes and I've mainly ended up with randoms and most of the people I've found in this game like trolling and like been children and have to be king of hill (a bunch of try hards) so i end up not getting the chance to or no one will let you because they don't want to wait and let you get used to using them

I do t let people have a say when I use the relic in VoG, not a huge fan of the sword but relic I LOVE! But some people (if I'm not with my mates) hate me using relic because I'm a hunter and if I die I can use self res or PPP bubble if I'm going to die

21 通の返信I'm a Hunter sword carrier. I will always carry the sword and never let a Warlock or Titan do it--- not that they can't, but my invisibility just makes things so much easier on the group.

Probably just like you said: people get mad if you don't "do it right". Plenty of people, myself included, have absolutely no problem with either the Aegis or Sword. The problem is the rest of the team. If the team is cool, I'll run relic, but usually they are not cool and I don't want to listen to them bitching at me because they wanted to save rockets or something stupid.

5 通の返信Here's my guess - I'm guessing that many players have raided with That Guy who always shit-talks about the slightest player error. Probably this happened too early on for some, they didn't know that That Guy is a dumbass, and he's typically one of the worst teammates in your fireteam (note worst Teammate, not worst Player). When these noobies try out the sword/relic for the first time and don't operate perfectly, here comes That Guy blabbing his bag-full-of-chips mouth about how we should boot these scrubs, don't touch the relic or else. For some, the scars never healed, even the thought of the relic/sword brings the crunching, whining voice of a heavy breather back into their ears. Instead, these players are now pros on boomer duty, masters of the rocket launcher, the Robin Hood of Atheon's heart. They're too good at what they do now. Or maybe they're all just a bunch of bitches - guess we'll never know

I am in the minority. The first time I played the VOG I snatched the relic up super fast. Same with the sword. The responsibility and unique game play you get from being a relic user really adds some variety. I still have moments where we get ported by atheon and I run ahead to Gjallarhorn the Minotaur then I turn around to see the other two just standing there before they say, "Grab the relic" Like seriously learn to use the relic and sword......You have to know that info even if you aren't using it. You know what the wielder has to do and can better support them by having that knowledge and experience.

3 通の返信I've tried to be better at the sword but most teams I join into don't have the patience to wipe a bunch of times as I get the hang of it. I've ran the sword a few times successfully but am still no pro at it. Most teams just want to get done with it so they try to get someone in with more experience with the sword.

I have all 3 (warlock, hunter and Titan) I consider myself a good relic/sword user, but from time to time (when I help strangers on raids) I tell someone to use it, even if they do not know how to. I'm always happy to teach anyone how to use it. How to, where to, timing and everything. For everyone reading this: If you're a new-to-raids, send me a PM and I'll be glad to assist you on anything. *Edit: Forgot to say that I'm a 360 Guardian, sorry my fellow Guardians, but I can still assist you guys by PM!
