Ok, so I've been trying to research and find out if the supposed Sony/Activision agreement is indeed over come this September? I cannot find confirmation, as well as that I cannot find confirmation as to why it exists in the first place! I did read an article stating that there were legal documents signed by both Microsoft and bungie that Destiny was to be a temporary Exclusive to the xbox, but upon a closer release date, ( maybe activisions involvement?) that there had been some sort of agreement between Sony and Activision regarding exclusive content!
Now, before I get started into the true purpose of this post, I would like to make a few things clear about what this post is NOT here for! This is not a post to perpetuate some kind of console war or arguments about what better console there is! This is not a post degrading either of the two consoles! This is not a post for trollers to try to get attention because they're bored and have no life! What this post IS, is looking for the publics honest opinions and thoughts concerning the problem of having exclusive content on the PS4! Wether you are a dies hard PS4 fan, or like me a die hard XBOX fan! I'm particularly interested in XBOX owners and their thoughts on the future DLC of destiny and even more particular, the Comet 1 expansion labeled Plague Of Darkness releasing in September with PS4 exclusive content yet again, and how you as a fan will react to this news! And lastly, while I can overlook a strike (or two??) and a couple of weapons, being that it will come to xbox in September; I cannot continue to overlook the fact that it makes us xbox fans feel like we're being screwed and PS4 owners are getting special treatment! So lastly, this post IS NEGATIVE feedback towards bungie and I hope you read and take it as such DeeJ!
So I'm interested in what the public and fans think and especially the xbox owners! Looking for intellectual and constructive debates/conversation and all trollers will be ignored! Please keep it clean and remember this is not a console war post!
Thanks for your thoughts an opinions!
Edit 1: This post is not about current content exclusives! This post is about what happens when comet1 drops which is suppose to be the size of the vanilla destiny! What happens when xbox users are expected to pay the same as playstation( 40-60) bucks but they only get 80-85 percent of the game while Playstation gets 100%

1 返信One exclusive exotic for the comet dlc isn't to bad. But I think the comet is its own destiny since the season pass didn't include it or any of the other DLC. It's also a leak, so how knows how old it is or if they changed it.
-
If they do exclusive content the same way for the comet game I will just play the new strikes that will be opening up the same time comet drops. The exclusivity deal will actually be beneficial to Xbox users at that time because we will get new things to do for free and won't have as much motivation to buy the new game at full price. I doubt they will make all the games as expansions to the first game so in order to get the exclusive weapons you will have to play Destiny and you probably won't be able to bring character progress back from comet. All the collectors will have plenty more to get before switching to comet. Also when it doesn't sell the price will drop faster.

2 通の返信Spartan 1004CGにより編集済み: 2/5/2015 4:23:18 AMI think paying the same amount and getting less isn't preferred but you have to look at it as more they are just getting extra. If it is timed exclusive or not im not too worried because it isn't like im seeing roped off locations on the map or other players with weapons i cant get. I do think people overlook that once the exclusive content drops for xbox gamers that would mean those strikes could pop up as the weekly heroic/nightfall strike. I know ive seen some playstation gamers wanting a nightfall version of those strikes. Either way, I'll buy the content because i cant be the only one who has bought games that they didn't enjoy or weren't worth their time. I do enjoy Destiny and while repetitive, i do change it up with the different activities with different characters. Hope this response was what you were looking for.

As long as xbox users get the old content, i.e., the content that right now and in HoW that is exclusive to the PS right now, Id be ok with it. But if we are stuck continuing to diverge and never get the content that the PS users currently have and will get in HoW, then that is some BLAM-ed up BLAM

Silvurphlameにより編集済み: 2/5/2015 9:05:06 PMI don't really care about a couple random exotic weapons. Since Xur can't sell them and my RNG luck for exotic drops is crap, it makes no difference to me because I'd likely never see them anyway. :) I'm somewhat annoyed about the exclusive strikes, since there are relatively few to begin with. And it's more for the length of the exclusivity than the exclusivity itself. If Destiny had launched with a bazillion things to do, nobody would care. Sony could have their two or three extra strikes and weapons forever for all that I care. But Destiny doesn't have dozens of strikes. It only has seven or eight including the Sony exclusives. The real issue is that a single strike, or rather two since TDB and presumably three with HoW, can actually form significant percentage of total content. That's what aggravates me. I'm fine with Sony having two or three extra missions, but it's aggravating when the game as a whole only has six non-exclusives to start. Would comet exclusives make me not buy the comet? Quit playing Destiny altogether? It would depend on how much PSN exclusive content is associated with the comet. The launch game had one exclusive strike. If the comet only has one exclusive strike, that's not so bad. If the comet has several exclusive strikes and/or story missions, then I am disinclined to pay the same amount of money for a significantly lesser version of the same product. So yeah, if the exclusivity gets renewed or if the comet has a large amount of exclusive content… well, I'm not likely to pay 100% of the price for 75% of the product. But I'm not sure I'd pay any $40-60 for the comet to begin with. Vanilla Destiny was a little pricey for the content, in my opinion, at $60. TDB felt more like a $10-15 DLC, than a $20 expansion to me. The comet would need to be larger than vanilla Destiny or else the same size with significant all around improvements to get $60 from me. And anyway, with a six month lull between HoW and the rumored comet, I'm not sure I'll even be playing Destiny by September. Six months is a long time in the video game world when there are so many things I could be checking out.

5 通の返信Why are the XBOX users so disgruntled? I never heard them kick up a fuss when they had timed content releases on Call of Duty, last generation. In fact, I seem to remember that Xbox users would make a point of rubbing this in the faces of PlayStation users. Microsoft started this stupid crazy of denying content to parts of the gaming community, if anything the anger should be directed towards them, and their selfish marketing strategies.

2 通の返信If it's just a couple missions, weapons and a strike or 2 I could live with it, but if Xbox players get ripped off a raid somebody's getting stabbed.

1 返信If I was still an Xbox player, I'd be pretty mad if a DLC like a comet (rumored to be around 60$) had a bunch of exclusives, especially for that price

12 通の返信colebaby11により編集済み: 2/5/2015 3:20:21 AMI have no idea what the actual agreement says. So my statement is purely me hashing out what I think will happen, logicly. I see exclusive content being used at a title launch as a mechanism for console makers to bolster sales. If you dont have either one, and you want this game, buy the console that givea you more content. like it or not this makes smart business sense, especially at the start of a console life cycle when people are still waiting to take the plunge one way or another... That being said, i think installment 2 of a title, espsecially one that lets you continue progress with a character you have already made, will be much less affective in bolstering sales for one console or another. I know that having started on xbox one, a ps exclusive isn't going to motivate me to ger a ps4 so i can start from scratch and have a couple more strikes. I will keep on with what I'm doing. And in that spirit, I'd venture to guess that most of the sales of the next big installment will come from current players, with far fewer brand new players. All this considered, if i was Sony i dont think id see a continued exclusive deal as worth much of an investment, and im sure it would take a good chunk of cash to make activision/bungie risk alienating "half" their gamer base. So again, just me thinking out loud... i dont think Sony would be wise to continue an exclusive deal. Would no longer make good business sense.

1 返信You get our exclusives these year you can wait for game that means you can wait content
-
2 通の返信PS only had exclusivity rights through September 2015, after that there will be no more exclusives, and all the current exclusives will be given to the Xbox gamers. Unless they've renegotiated the contract, but I haven't heard anything about it if they have.
-
1 返信I do wonder why they bothered. If the idea was to encourage people to upgrade from 360 to PS4, they needed transferring progress to work. As it doesn't, the choice is "wait for the embargo to end" vs "start the game over from scratch". Most people won't pick the latter.

3 通の返信Any 1 year exclusives on the comet exposition would be complete bull as we will be playing destiny 2 by the time they come to Xbox. That being said, I could care less about having that extra content as long as I have content to enjoy (raids & public locations)

20 通の返信Sony paid for exclusives. Exclusives are given to Xbox in Autumn of this year, if you can't find where they say that, then you better see an eye doctor. If you are butthurt about DLC exclusives then you'd better get ready for the HoW. (TDB 2 strikes, 1 of which exclusive, and 3 PvP maps, HoW 1 strike and 4 PvP maps, I wonder where the exclusive kicks in.) If the comet releases before the exclusives expire, you won't be waiting long at all for them. Also, the most recent news we've seen about the HoW says it'll release in May, which is different from the leaked image. (March 10th) Urk (Eric Osbourne) suggested that the image is outdated, so if HoW releases in May, I doubt the Comet will release in September.

23 通の返信All the Xbox fans that are saying rip up the contract are retarded. Bungie gives Xbox exclusives Bungie gets sued by ps Bungie loses tons of money Stock holders pull out and sell Bungie goes bankrupt All Bungie servers shut down Bungie doesn't off refunds because bankrupt All you fgt's move on to other games with exlcusives Complain the same way

13 通の返信I understand why your annoyed but hello xbox exclusives include titan fall, forza, cod franchise, halo franchise yet you have written a essay on why you can't have the destiny exclusives at the same time as ps4 bottom line is Sony paid up Microsoft didn't.

2 通の返信The only thing worth getting from the Exclusive is Hawkmoon. I have 3 of them and hardly use them. Cuz there are just way too many good weapons in the game.
-
4 通の返信I play on XBOX and I would not be so mad if the ps4 exclusive content was average (as exclusive content usually is) but Hawkmoon is the best hand cannon in the game! You can't make the best gun of my favorite weapon type exclusive!
