Who thinks Xur is random?
Seriously... Let me know !
Edit:Bump the shit out of this post so bungie finally notices that we wont let us screw over every week!
Edit 2: Opinions if he is random or not seem 50:50
Edit 3: IDC about ghorn or weapons shit.
Its about that its close to impossible to get exotic armor without xur .

Not a chance he is think about it when he was going to sell icebreaker again Deej knew it and put it out there on the forum feeds. Truth is I don't care what he sells just not the crap that gets brought up every other time. At least have him cycle through all of it in a random order before he repeats the same crap. Ammo synth should always be there also.

3 通の返信It is random. Random doesn't mean anything other than the last instance. In the number pi the number 9 repeats like 16 times. Repetition does not mean non random.

27 通の返信Programmer here. As to wether or not the items on Xur are weighted or not I can't tell you (personally I would weight them), but I can tell you this. RNG by a machine can never truly be random. Machines aren't good at picking a random sequence of numbers. To counter this, we do something called [i]seeding[/i] which is usually based off the current time to help generate random numbers since time is usually the one value on a machine that is constantly changing. This is a problem since Xur is always updated at the same time making it where using the time for a seed isn't practical. In essence, if your seed is bad or you lack one, you're going to be getting the same sequence of numbers again and again. Thought the forums might like an educated response rather than the hate post by people who don't know some underlying fundamentals. Lesson over. Back to the ranting.

True question is who the !#@& cares. As long as there is a way to get exotics (rng or xur) I don't whether it's random or if I have to fight a 2 headed dragon that makes crota look like a baby throwing a tantrum after his mom stops breastfeeding. As long as I have a chance to get I'm not mad.

RNG doesn't mean all items have an equal chance. It also doesn't mean that all items are on the possible list for Xur. Initially it appeared all exotics were possible. That may be different now. Can Bungie manually run Xur? Yes. Do I think they have before? Yes. Do I think they do so every week? No.

Each passing week makes me think he's more and more weighted and I've heard some good arguments against RNG that I never thought of (like him selling healing helmets the first week of hard mode). But I'm quite sure he's still randomly picking things off of a loot table. Even if half the table is allocated to DLC gear. But that could just be my cognitive bias whittling away at my reasoning.

6 通の返信He's still random, Bungie just tweaked his loot table to spit out DLC gear twice as often as regular gear to pull more people to the DLC. That's my theory
