Tell that to my friend who got the ice breaker a while back doing nothing in a nightfall. You don't have to have skill in order to get good gear, you just have to put in time. Not that this game takes much skill in general after all most the supers are OP and break competitive MP. But the fact remains by not rewarding actual skill, and instead rewarding patience and time (not the sniper lol) doesn't support competitive play, but instead casual play.
