VoG only has the lag bugs which is fine if you have a good connection.
0 problems with this in the last few weeks.

A simple way to stop this is only do ground slams, every time you can, just keep jump slamming and the pratorian won't ever hit you.(or at least not as often) I did this for 3 runs last night didn't come close to dying once.
