So, I'm guessing that most people here in #Gaming are passionate about, well... games. What's that one franchise that you've loved so much that you just... I don't know exactly how to say it. The one where you just care so much about, and where it has impacted you so much?
For me, it has to be Mass Effect.
I started placing Mass Effect pretty late into the series, but I don't think that really matters. I've gotten all of the games and played them numerous time. I only started really playing Mass Effect with the release of ME3. I wasn't exposed much to Mass Effect before, and I would probably have been too young to appreciate the universe before. (When ME3 came out, I was 15.)
I did a playthrough of ME3 somewhat blindly, and I knew I was going to miss out a bit by not playing ME1 and ME2 first, but I still loved it. It was either immediately after or at least soon after that I went out and bought Mass Effect 1 and 2. I then did a playthrough of all 3 games and I loved it even more.
Soon after, I joined an online Mass Effect community. So, it's not just the awesomeness of the series which affected me so much, but the people I met in this community, too. The best friends I've ever had were from that community.
I think Mass Effect was the first clearly story-focused game that I loved, and it made me open to trying other story driven games. I might have not tried out games like The Walking Dead and The Last of Us if I hadn't played Mass Effect. And The Last of Us is my favorite game of all time, followed by the Mass Effects, so I'm glad I played it. Story focused games are now my favorite types of games.
If I had to be classified as a fan of a series of anything, I'd want to be called a Mass Effect fan. ^_^
----- I'll give a notable mention to the Halo series. I've been with it since the beginning... even though I was 5 when Halo CE came out :P

Metal gear and zelda franchise. ( I have beaten ocarina of time more than 20 times, more than any other game I have ever played). My dream would be a continuation on next gen of the ocarina of time story ( I know majoras mask is, but my dream would come true if they did a game inspired on ocarina next year) frankly I think the new zeldas should loose the toonish design and go for more realistic depictions, of course still maintaining what makes zelda games so popular but it would give the game a more immersed experience.

2 通の返信I hear Mass Effect is awesome but I just can't get through the first one, the squad controls killed me. The idea of Mass Effect is awesome though. For me it's a toss up between Metal Gear and Resident Evil but if Last of Us is to continue that will prolly take it.

3 通の返信Mass Effect for me as well. Can't even say how many times I have played through the trilogy or how much I have spent on DLC and "action figures". ME1 is my least favorite, thanks to combat and elevators, but I have still ran through that one at least half a dozen times. I typically just pick up from ME2 and play to the end of ME3.
