Just looking for some honest opinions here. I just started a Warlock today and so far it seems stupid strong, at least voidwalker. Their melee range is ridiculous especially since hunters blink strike ability is "extended range" warlocks also get a reduction to gernade charge time. Secondly the few gernades I used are amazing and I know axion bolt is great. Nova bomb is amazing as well since it wipes almost anything in its path. Its easy to spot on the other classes. Hunters generally have some shit abilities on their skill trees, their specials are terrible in pve comparatively speaking, and they provide little direct team support. Titans weaknesses is the necessity to always be in melee range on striker and defender isn't really weak, but its not great either since gaining the sheild is only on kill vs sunsinger's on dmg. Aside from that defender is team support/orb factory which is fine.
My question is what are the disadvantage/weaknesses for warlocks? I'm not saying warlocks are op or anything just want a legit conversation.

1 返信First thing that comes to mind is mobility. At least for Sunsingers. We have the awful, slow Glide and crappy upgrades for it. Voidwalkers have Blink, but I always thought Blink is confusing to use. Low durability. Hell, my Sunsinger feels a lot less durable than my Gunslinger.

7 通の返信You never hear about people deleting a warlock for a hunter or titan, but the opposite always happens.

9 通の返信Voidwalker's super seems to have the slowest charge rate. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, warlock is the mid range fighter class. Making it very adaptable to fight with in every situation. It has good passive making it easy to max whatever stats you value. Nova bomb is a beast but it can also kill you if enemies are to close to you. The area of effect grenades are both pretty good in pve, especially with enhanced duration. Axion bolt and bloom is like a mini super and scatter grenade combined with bloom makes so many dam explosions but is also very lethal to yourself should you be to close to whatever you threw it at. Sun singer is very mediocre however in terms of raw damage, it is a very controlled ability. If your dying a lot then this is the sub class for you. Apotheosis veil makes radiant skin or even song of flame useful to both getting health and being a tank or helping your teams overall DPS. I'm excited for the ram exotic helmet to blind enemies with my self res and purifier robes for a bloom effect on sunsinger. Especially the purifier robes. I feel like that will give it a stupid amount of destruction and survivability. In summary, warlocks are great but like the other classes they are flawed, people without a warlock can point and say self res is OP but it's really not, sunsingers total DPS capability makes it very difficult to kill large groups of enemies quickly like you need from a super, without good weapons the subclass is support at best, a safety net. A Titan bubble is infinitely more useful for a team while self res only saves you, a very selfish ability on a raid and typically does not save your team from wiping often. Hunters have great DPS supers but can seem a bit weak vs elites. I very much miss my hunters as they are a high risk high reward character, very exhilarating to play when shit kicks off. I look forward to seeing the new arc subclass, I hear it has DoT capabilities which is intriguing but I fear it could be far to weak like sunsinger is currently, I hope they bring a few good exotics with the comet dlc for it to boost up its damage. TL;dr warlocks are good but balanced, I want purifier robes, warlocks are a selfish class. Titans are more useful, hunters are fun to play as.

Warlocks don't have a weakness they can adapt to any situation and are Gods. Warlock is the perfect class in Destiny. Anyone that says different commits blasphemy and defies the Traveler! All Hail Warlocks! All Hail the traveler!

2 通の返信Actually, with exception to axion bolt and fusion grenades, the warlock grenades are terrible. Both vortex grenades are easy to get out of, and scatter grenades only seem to be effective when hitting right near the target. firebolt grenades seem too random to me and never are effective. Sunsinger is pretty worthless in my opinion except for raids and nightfalls. Nova bomb is a beast, i gotta give it that. Voidwalker melee, while having good range, doesn't do much for you. Sunsinger is a different story, flame shield is great. all that aside, my favorite character is my warlock. Just pointing out some things from an experienced lock that i have noticed since day one.

Its about 95 percent support class. Fusion grenade is the only one that does significant damage and it's usually a single target kill. Glide makes you a target, there's even a skill to hold you up there so your a sitting duck mid air! Why?! The supers are very situational until you get a good grasp on them and set your skill tree just right for what your doing. No such thing as a universal skill tree. This being said it is my favorite class because it suits my strategic mid distance play style very well.

Belatarにより編集済み: 3/10/2015 2:20:21 PMI would say the biggest disadvantages are compensated with the amount of grenades they can throw. If you are using sunsinger then you can equip two grenades and they recharge quite quickly. Also they do a ton of damage. At least two of the 3 do if you are voidwalker you can get armor that make your respawn everytime you die with a grenade nice for the crucible. If they didn't have some disadvantages this and some of their other qualities would make them op

9 通の返信Grenades are pretty bad and the jump can be a pain in the arse since it leaves you floating in the air so long making you an easy target
