24 years old with a steady job making about 45k/year as a part timer.
About a year and a half left of my mechanical engineering degree. I have a steady relationship with my GF going almost a year strong though we have been BfF,
But I am tired of people judging me because I game. Just because I game does not make me a loser or someone not going places.
Stop judging me for
My gaming habits. Also I am not fat, I am quite active working out and playing ball.
So why all the prejudice against gamers?
Edit: People think I am BSing about my salary. sales and commission is the answer. I say I work part time because of how my company classified me. I work 36 hours a week! They classify FT as 40+. My last job 32+ was FT
Edit2: seems like there are a lot of veteran Gamers! Props to all who have a lot to juggle and make time game.
Edit3: I love seeing the different demographics! Wish I could respond to all of you.
Edit4: Despite what some people think, this is NOT a Destiny Dating thread
Edit5: Thanks for all the support and giving your opinion for this matter. Yall are pretty funny with your comments. Continue slaying the darkness

1 返信I'll be 14 next month. yeah I know. I'm not a squeaker though and I'm not a douchebag either. I've been told I'm very polite and I work whenever I can and I saved up a good bit of money so I can pay my own way. Have you guys had any bad experiences with I guess 13-15 yr old gamers if so if love to know so I could eliminate those possibilities for me.

7 通の返信25, Married, own a house, my wife and I pull in about 95k a year. Nobody judges me for playing games, she'll get on my case sometimes since i can play for long periods of time, but hell, shes the one who bought me an xbox one. If someone is going to judge you for how you relax and spend your free time, then they aren't worth being in your life at all. It doesn't seem like gaming is interfering with any other part of your life, so why worry? :) Game on my friend.

1 返信26, full time job and a girlfriend of 4 years who hates destiny. I read a great article a while ago about how we are the first generation raised with video games as a primary source of entertainment and most around my age agree they plan to continue gaming long into our lives. Forget all the garbage people put out there about video games a thoughtless form of entertainment; I went to college and read the classics and many of the themes from books written by the "old white guys" are prevalent in games as well. Games are becoming more and more thought provoking and much like movies and books there are deep ones and games designed for cheap distraction. Whichever it may be video games are an emerging genre and we are right on the cusp of them really coming into their own as an art form. All that plus killing Sepiks with a throwing knife at the last second is fun as hell

I'm a 16 yr old high school student, but I'm taking 5 college courses for early credit. Don't have time for work, because I also have robotics/science Olympiad/jazz band/etc, and by the time those finish everyday it's too close to the school mandated work curfew, therefore Destiny in free time

32, maybe 33 when HoW drops. Car salesman, single, have made anywhere from 60k to about 90k, been playing since I was 3 or 4 Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt & Tetris were it for me! Sega Genesis, Sega cd, nintendo 64, Playstation, playstation 2. When I got playstation 2, I got every other console out there. From game cube to XboX. When the PS3 & Xbox 360 came out I traded everything in & got a 360 because it was available. I immediately returned it. I thought if this is next gen (for that time) I'm done. Luckily waited for PS3 & I've been a PS guy since. Plz do not misunderstand me, it's a personal preference, for me I like PS more, others like XB, both are great, I just like PS more & that's my opinion only Anyways, I do think people judge, especially at my age so settle down youngin.

Wow im glad im not the only one whos thought this before. Im 17, part time job to help out my mom, a girl friend (we might even think of marriage later on in life, no body give me that "im to young to understand" crap) and been on a swim team for 4 years , im the captain this year. Im very athletic (yet thin so I get shit for that every now and then). Idk why people judge if they find out your a gamer. Hell I only play on xbox 1 1/2 days out of the week yet im classified as a -blam!-ing nerd by some people iv met lmao!

2 通の返信I'll be 40 shortly. Started on atari 2600.All atari systems, col vision, sega, dreamcast. Have played every nintendo system except gamecube.ps1 and 2. Gameboy, ds, 3ds, wii, pc games, phone app games, mostly shooters and rpgs. I enjoy gaming over television shows. It just feels better to me to be involved with something rather than just watch. People call it mindless. But im using my brain to make decisions rather than just absorbing shows.

22, part time seasonal job in trade show business, maybe 20k a year? Nothing special. Rather disappointed with the quality of the gaming industry lately but I stick around because I've always loved gaming. A lot of people who hate on gamers don't understand the immersive experience it provides, especially with games like skyrim where you literally write your own story.
