There's a downside to being level 31. I call 'em vultures.
So I'm a level 31 Hunter. Nothing too special I just got the new Vanguard gear and Young Ahamkara Spines (Those gauntlets look amazing!) Right now I'm leveling my upgraded exotics. So that means bounties and lots of em!
But I've encountered a problem. Nearly EVERY time I go to cash in for my sweet sweet XP guess what happens.
Some random group of guardians goes "HEY LOOK A LEVEL 31 I'M ABSOLUTELY SURE HE WANTS TO DO THE RAID OR HELP ME DO WHATEVER I TELL HIM TO IN A VERY RUDE TONE OF VOICE LETS SPAM HIM WITH INVITES UNTIL HE LEAVES AND CALL HIM NAMES IF HE DOESN'T JOIN UP!"
I don't. Please go away. I once got six different invites in the 30 seconds it took to walk to Xander 99-40
I honestly don't care all to much about grinding my butt off to gain one level. I can do everything in the game just fine. Plus the RNG hates me so I don't get armor anyways so I don't need radiant stuff.
It doesn't bug me all too much. I understand that's a good way to get a group together. I kinda feel bad ignoring them, but I just wanna do my own thing ya know? I'm just wondering if I'm the only one. Anyone else in my boat?
Edit 1: Wow. More responses than I expected. This is actually my best thread. Glad I aint the only one. Anyways a little about me I don't have any real drive to get to level 32 because I'm not a big fan of the CE raid gear and it's more work than I' care to do. Also I'm not against helping people who are struggling, I often do. But not people who are rude or spam.

I've actually only been spontaneously invited once, and that was because I was a level 30 Warlock at the time helping some new people out in the VoG. I decided why not, and I went and helped them out. Must've been good karma because the next time I ran the hard raid I finally got a mythoclast, lel (Still no fatebringer though) But crap... Now that my Warlock just hit 31, I should begin to prepare for the storms you say will come... ( ͡o n ͡o)

2 通の返信Started a fresh character, I'm level 12 at that time, I go to Tower, 6.762 seconds after I've spawned in, I get 15 new messages(Invites and such) for Raids and yadayadayada. Why? Because my Grimoire score is high and so they're like he's got a high level character(which I do)! Let me harass his ass until he joins and then I'll give orders as if he was my bitch! I guess I'll have to turn Notifications Off now...

I get a lot of invites both in tower and while I'm on patrol. I mainly ignore them unless the specifically say what they are inviting me too. I'm more than happy to jump into and help someone out but you have to take the extra second to tell me what you need help with.

Lol. It's worse when you've got the nightfall blue rinse as well. I keep special armour and green weapons for the tower. All for helping and will often do a weekly or nf half a dozen times to help out but ONLY if the request is polite and the person is willing to wait for me to finish what I'm doing first. Cheers

The reason I hate this is because for the first couple months that Destiny was out, I had no raid group, nightfall group... Hell, I had no one to play with. But I got by just fine to 29, and now to 31. Sure, i'm in a group now, but I still get left out of fireteams and eventually miss out on weekly content because no one wants to do it again. Never once (to my memory) did I request help from a random, not to mention in a rude way. I've helped out other people a handful of times, and only once did I benefit from it. I completely agree with this, but for different reasons. These players have no right to not deal with my situation.

I've been there. What i hate the most is that they NEVER tell ypu what you are gonna do...vog? Hard vog? ce? Even once someone asked me to join and it was to do the last part of the thorn bounty, to kill the wizard. I do not mind helping, but they do not know how to be polite. And if you do not accept, they keep following you around the tower. About three days ago someone send me 15 invites and after following me around he just sends me a message saying: "hey, help us". Just like that.

3 通の返信Exactly right, CE raid armor looks bad on all characters, and I honestly don't want to look like 95 percent of the population with raid gear, not worth the grind when in March all of it will be useless

Half the time when i use destinylfg.com some random noob invites me from the tower and i accidentally accept. PSA: you are all terrible and no one wants to wait in your party while you rodio down 4 more random noobs from the tower.
