While on patrol on Venus, I stumble across the raid area. I found a level 27 doing the raid. He was hopelessly bouncing between the plates. Knowing how hard it is, I decided to help out. Turns out he was trying to do the raid by himself because he didn't know you needed a full team of 6 to do the raid. Just to help the guy out, I hit up my raid group, we grabbed our characters and backpacked him through the raid. I found it cool that some guardians can stop what they are doing to help out other low level players. This is something that isn't all there in today's community. Kind of sad really. Thought I'd share my story of my adopted noob.

So cool to see this post getting so much love. I was originally skeptical of posting this because I thought no one would care. Posted it anyway. Glad I did. Seeing as how I see these nice responses and cool stories of other guardians doing the same.

Hey, I help noobs almost daily. Usually I will bring a low level with me when raiding , and when ever I go do nightfall I go to the tower and invite two low levels. That feeling of helping someone else get they're first pieces of raid gear or a new exotic is priceless. I once helped a whole group of noob squeakers through the vog raid (TOOK FOREVRR) and one of them got the mythoclast. You should of heard this kid going nuts! Was like an over excited chowawa that hasn't seen you in two days then finally you walk in and the thing gets so excited it's doing the snake while pissing uncontrollably and yapping.

13 通の返信Thats my problem, i cant stop helping others. I can barely get what i want done with just 1 character. I wish i could freeze time and get 3 characters up to max level get all bounties, strikes, raids, nightfall done. I feel like a horrible person when i turn down someone or say i cant help. So i always help them and when i need help i always get cold shoulder. And i am like WTF.......

9 通の返信That's the only reason I'm still playing destiny nowadays. Just helping out whoever needs help. For this week's nightfall I did it solo until he was almost dead (a shot or two). I knew I have a few 27's who seem to be stuck on 27 forever so just invited them so they get the reward as soon they land. Took 2 28's through nightfall again today. I know they deal no damage, or not much, and are dead 90% of the time but I don't mind(: If people need help for something, I stop whatever I'm doing (if I'm not helping someone already) and help them out :) Nightfall, vog, crota, even helping New ones through the story. I've had a level 4 inviting me for helping him through it and that's what I did. We all had help at one point and the least we can do is return the favor to other guardians who need help. The only sad thing is that when you need people to run vog with you they don't want to because 'I'm sorry but you have no Mic'. I've been on Destiny from day one (on ps3) since the start of vog that's basically all I've done. Almost every day we did the raid for people who couldn't find teams. Jusy switched to Xbox about a Mont ago, already 32, experienced in both raids. I'm usually the one taking the relic in vault and I can handle the sword in crota (on normal. I'm failing miserably in hard mode) but if there is someone more experienced in that, I rather have them taking the sword.

I run/ran across a level 26 hunter (the Last Thursday of Feb) doing it solo. As my level 26 Warlock, I figured just help him/her the best I could. A lot of fun even though I died about about five to six times.

I love helping a random group having spire trouble while on patrol and raining truth rockets on their praetorians. Apparently not the only one because I have been surrounded only to survive thanks to a random gally or hunger of Crota rocket.

Hi, I've read your online adds and I'm here to adopt myself a baby boy noob. Where do I sign up?? In all seriousness nice to see guardians doing something nice like this. It's a nice change of pace from all the usual negativity.

I ran the vault with a bunch of first timers a couple of times, it made me so happy when they got chatterwhite and were really happy for getting such a cool looking shader. I love hearing how excited people get after finishing their first raid.

Its refreshing to hear this! I myself in my early destiny days tried soloing the VOG raid as I didn't know you couldn't do it alone. It can be hard for players to find people to raid with especially if people look down on their rank. I hope more people adopt this type of community spirit!

I adopted a guardian noob when I was ranking up my own level 6 character and I ran across him. He was new and i thought I could help and I could also use help too on my story journey. I thought him a lot, how to know what good gun is and how be successful at destiny. I encourage you to adopt a noob today, maybe if you make a new character you can find your very own noob.
