I got 2 Shards each time with all 3 characters. Completely different classes. All 30+.
Yes, this is Destiny. And it's quite demotivating when I bust my ass and watch everyone else reap the benefits.
I say, cheese it. Cheese everything, because this game doesn't reward for effort.
Edit: Fun fact - Crota Kills as Swordbearer don't affect KDR. I have the Tireless Striders with my 31. Just think about that with the KDR quota.
Edi 2t: I'm taking into account games where I'm invited in to be the Swordbearer for a few minutes, kill Crota, then leave.
You can see that my records for a single life in a raid are between 5 hours and 6.5 hours across all 3 characters.
My highest kill count was 1373 for a single raid. Why would KDR even matter in PvE?
Edit 3&4 (pasted it here): I did a full stat comparison between myself and GouldBerg988 (the guy whom copy-pasted games where I was only passing the checkpoint and being a Swordbearer)
(to GouldBerg988)
*sigh*
Well, since you really, really want to throw stats around, then let’s look at them from an actual numbers standpoint.
I took the liberty of compiling the stats of all your characters:
http://destinydb.com/guardians/playstation/2305843009223003365-gouldberg988#50.pve
http://destinydb.com/guardians/playstation/2305843009223003199-gouldberg988#50.pve
http://destinydb.com/guardians/playstation/2305843009224492838-gouldberg988#50.pve
And my characters:
http://destinydb.com/guardians/xbox/2305843009218551581-gh0st-wh1sp3r#50.pve
http://destinydb.com/guardians/xbox/2305843009220916615-gh0st-wh1sp3r#50.pve
http://destinydb.com/guardians/xbox/2305843009220916740-gh0st-wh1sp3r#50.pve
And then, I compiled all of their stats, as seen in this sheet, here:
https://docs.zoho.com/sheet/published.do?rid=to54a8bccf96e1fdc495988d2a2f5adb449ba
Mind you, these numbers were taken on Dec. 31, 2014 at 3:30AM (ish) PST. So, if you’ve attempted a Raid since then, the numbers might be different.
I haven’t done a Raid, as to keep my stats the same for your viewing pleasure.
(Oh, and I could also paste your recent Raids with 0.00 KDRs, but I won’t because I’m not an asshole. Hint, hint.)
I have a higher
- raid success rate
- most kills in a single game (1373)
- longest single life (over 6x your highest, with an average of 6.8x your average)
VoG (30)
- higher average of completions
- higher average of kills
- higher kills per completion
- lower average of deaths per completion
- higher amount of precision kills per completion
- lower amounts of deaths over time spent in raid per completion
VoG (26)
- higher average of completions
- higher average of assists
- higher amount of kills over time spent per completion
- lower amount of deaths over time spent per completion
Crota
- higher average of completions
- higher average of assists
- lower average of deaths per completion
So yeah. You almost never do Raids, compared to me. And if you were such a badass as you claim, then you’d at least have more Crota and VoG completions than I do…but you don’t. In fact, while you have a higher KDR (which means nothing, as I could stand in a corner and kill adds for hours to up my KDR), I get the Raids done more often and die less often.
Plus, the fact that I can survive for about 5 hours is pretty extreme, seeing as you can die from:
having to defend the Sync Plates from Praetorians
getting wiped by Conflux Expunge
getting wiped by Oracles
detainment fields
getting wiped by Gorgons
falling from platforms
getting blown up by Supplicants
Vault glitchfest
Abyssal Lamp explosions
falling in pits
Annihilator Totems
Gatekeeper instaslash
Deathsinger (enough said)
Oversoul wipe
Crota enrage
Not to mention any other way to get murdered. Like Hobgoblin sniper fest, regenerating Praetorians, mobs of Thralls, Ogre energy hose, Swordbearer blindside, Knights with Boomers, etc. etc.
Really, really hard to do with an under leveled character.
Insanely boring to do with over leveled character.
So yeah. Throw around stats. But if you can’t interpret them, they mean nothing. The data’s all there.

1 返信Finished it twice today and got to across the bridge a third time as we'll. Two helmets, one chest, black hammer, sword breaker, handful of shards and energy and the last word. Sorry.

9 通の返信Your stats are incredibly shitty, you don't deserve the shards. Stats from my first run last night, basically solo: http://www.bungie.net/en/Legend/PGCR/1/4611686018429556530/2305843009263935176/1270275697?_ I only got shards.

The disconnect between effort and rewards has become so vast, that (IMHO), the best content of the game (raids) is almost not worth completing in the way it was designed. For example, for someone to be able to walk into Crota's End solo, open a chest and receive a Hawkmoon 2.0, whereas my team of 6 battle though the raid, get to Crota, spend a good chunk of time to finally beat him, and end up with 2 energies is laughable, and as you say, demotivating. Why beat our heads against a wall for 1.5 hours to receive something that we could have gotten solo, in 3 minutes?! For the chance of something better? That used to be motivating enough. Unfortunately, not anymore. It all boils down to the RNG system being broken, and because of this, more and more people will resort to spending time figuring out how to cheese an encounter rather than play through it. If I was guaranteed a piece of gear/weapon that I did not already have after beating Crota, I would feel much more like taking him down normally. As the developers originally said, "each piece of gear has a story behind it, a story on how it was obtained." Unless the loot tables or drop percentages are adjusted, especially in raids, the "story of how gear is obtained" will soon become overwhelmingly monotone, "I cheesed." I love this game. It has provided the best co-op experience for me and my friends in a long time, if not ever. I love the raids because well, for the same aforementioned reason. But we are all losing faith in the system, as after playing for hours at a time (a feat not easily achieved for us dads, husbands, and employees), we earn our rewards and collectively say, "well, we should have just cheesed it for this." I certainly hope that "smart" loot stays in school and indeed becomes smarter. Nothing takes the wind out of a game's sails like duplicate loot drops, or a reward unmatched to the effort given prior. Finally, within the contents of the limited edition of Destiny, a latin phrase graced one of the pages. It wrote, Post proelia praemia Translated, it reads, "After the battles come the rewards." Sadly, the same rewards (or better!) can be obtained without spending a single moment in battle, thus rendering the battle unnecessary. I'll leave you all with that. _Ohuigin

Yep. Two guys in my clan had the same thing happen.... One got 2 shards 3 times, and the other got Energy 3 times. I got 2 Shards twice and the Warlock helmet (which is awesome), but yeah, it's not great. Especially considering the fact that I'm the Sword-bearer every time. But yeah, pretty annoyed. Add into that the fact that all I got from the Nightfall was Ascendant Materials, and it feels like a bit of a piss take. 3 runs a week since launch and still no Black Hammer :( My thoughts: -- If Radiant Shards are gonna be your only drop, you should at least get more than if you were to get a weapon. --Ascendant Materials and Strange Coins need to be taken out of the Nightfall rewards. Ascendant Materials are virtually useless to most veterans of the Vault Of Glass.... I have 300 energy and nothing to spend it on. --The Crota fight tends to give the worst loot in the raid in my experience. (I get better drops from the chest at the start than the final boss. Y'know, the one that you can get as a 28 without killing a single enemy?)

I did the Crota room, fired one rocket, got a pile of shards, shader, Black Hammer and some terrible legendary AR. Black Hammer may be the best gun in the game. Unlimited ammo for bullet sponge bosses with no reload and massive damage; yes please. Every time I've jumped into a nightfall (when I see friends short handed), I've pulled an exotic. Full runs, jack squat. I really think it's intentional. Has to be. Amiright?
