Remind us how "using weapons with poor sight picture and no real optics to dial in on targets at great distances" are actual sniper tactics.

To add my two cents about NLB and all snipers in Destiny; there isn't a map in the game that should require an actual sniper rifle. Look up the effective range of an M16 (if you don't already know) and try and think of a map that has a straight line of sight longer than 500 meters. Let alone if you talk about an M14. Both those weapons are one shot killers if you know how and where to put the round. Yeah, it's the future and somehow all the guns got really weak. I know it's aliens and we/they have armor, but you don't take a .22LR to hunt buffalo and projectiles have always been ahead of armor. Sorry, ranting and changing the subject, but this Halo-extension of a game does snipers no justice at all...

alccodeにより編集済み: 12/30/2014 5:21:06 AMHm, I completely agree here and it does irk me somewhat. To be honest, the need to keep the game and guns balanced results in this ridiculous situation where total damage over time is fairly equalized, so unloading 15 rounds in the time you hold down the trigger on a high RoF auto versus 1 shot of a HC somehow does the same amount of damage. Whereas in reality 15 rapid shots should tear apart whatever you're shooting at. (Disclaimer: never shot a gun before. Don't blame me, I'm Canadian, they don't allow me to carry here.) EDIT: correction, I did shoot a single bolt action rifle as a member of a University rifle club.... before it was shut down by the government. :/

When I was taking programming back in high school we had a year where the teacher that was picked for the class was seriously bad and didn't know java from alice. So while not paying attention we took a PC version of an old CoD game and moded it. The sniper rifles in the the game had iron sights. Im pretty used to the iron sights and the complaints I hear people talking about it just goes to show how much people are used to things and refuse to try something their not used to. I've tried both iron sights and scopes. Iron sights might be more enclosed but they provide better chances at precision shots.

Its not the weapon its the weapon holder if you have to be able to zoom in on someones crotch to get a kill i feel for you where as this sniper opens your screen to be able to view more around you and snipe closer (also google tactics its the implementation of movements and strategic placement for vantage has nothing to do with an item)

My Praedyth's Revenge or Patience & Time also have short-range zooms, fire faster and have little-to-no recoil to allow better follow-up shots if I miss or need to take out my initial kill's teammate. There are also green or blue rarity sniper rifles that do the same thing. If I want long-distance shots with an open field of view, I can also throw on one of my scout rifles. There's absolutely no reason to use this weapon.

Yeah, I agree. I will scrap a sniper rifle if all it has is long-distance optics on it, regardless of the stats. Most PvE maps are pretty enclosed in the no-respawn zones, and there's only a couple wide-open PvP maps. Unless I'm goofing off in Patrol I don't see any reason to use a rifle with a telescope bolted to the top of it.

My black hammer outperforms the fire rate on the gun but no where on any other sniper do you get a 1 hit kill without a headshot or the op modifer on the close range scopes are still zoomed in to close to be a close range sniper no scout rifle will give you the same close range impact its made for long to mid range fights this sniper is made for close range to fairly decent long range which still isnt needed in terms of practicality of ammo use if you wanna try this weapon to its fullest max it then use any other secondary than snipers and your world is opened up to limitless engagement strategies
