Those of us who did it legit spent 7-10 hours on the raid the first time. We learned to communicate, practiced our timing and finally after hours of frustration took down Crota.
The reason people are frustrated against those that CHEAT not cheese is because they didn't have to put in the work in order to get the gear. They just cheat the game and get the same loot as those that put in the time. To top it off we then have to hear people come up with lame excuses on why cheating is OK.
That is why I care what other people do, because the time I put in should be worth something otherwise it cheapens the entire experience. I partially blame Bungie for letting it happen but mostly I am disappointed in the players.
Edit - I wish there was meta data attached to posts like age, income, gender, etc. It would be interesting to see how responses correlate.
Edit 2 - For those saying get a life, why do you care, why so serious. I say it is possible to care about something and not spend every waking moment thinking about it. It's not like I go to bed worrying about what other people do. It's just an interesting discussion topic with a wide variety of opinions. Using critical thinking and having a discussion on a topic that at the end of day doesn't really matter is about the same as watching videos of cats on reddit..... lol. Lots of way to waste time at work....
Edit 3 - Obviously this just a video game so exploiting isn't lawfully wrong. Morality is another issue. Of course it is also a matter of severity and damage caused. Again this is a video game so in many eyes there is a who cares attitude. I just choose to draw my line differently than other people. That wasn't my original argument but I feel like the journey should be worth something and want other people to have my same view. That is wrong and I shouldn't force my views on other people and really how can you do that on a forum but I would be willing to bet that most people are on forums to feel validated and have our beliefs confirmed. Obviously that blew up in my face. haha.
Thanks everyone for your inputs.

People will always go for the quicker Easier option. Always give lazy people the hardest jobs as they will find the easiest an quickest way to do it. The fault lies again with bungie not the players, if they give us buggy glitchy shit the players will exploit them. And nobody cares about you and the time it took you to do crotas end your just a dude who plays a game, and therefore have no right to judge how anyone else plays it.

5 通の返信We all paid $60 for this game. I beat CE legit twice and cheesed it twice, based on the preference of my party. That's my prerogative. Other people cheesed it the first time and won't know how to do it legit until February when it is all patched. Some people want to do it strictly legit. No one is EARNING shit though. It's a game, and the drops are random. The only earning anyone has done since light became relevant was Iron Banner.
-
Does it really though. And no they don't get the same loot. Say for example you beat the raid and get a piece of raid gear. Someone somewhere else in the world only beat the first check point and got 2 pieces. Twice what you did. Say you got dragon's breath.... Someone (probably MANY people) got it out of the first chest. So no. Your gear is only worth what you think of it. It's all in your head. And destiny is a game of gear. If you have the best gear, you are allowed more access to things. So say you think your dragon's breath or vex mythoclast or whatever else is the best thing in the game and it is your trophy for doing something worth while. Someone somewhere could give less of a shit about that gun. Or that accolade either. The only person who cares about your achievement is you (and possibly the ones around you. That helped you) So you know what you should do. The same. Not give a shit how people got their claim to fame. Bill gates doesn't look at people who win the lottery and go get pissy and mad and stomp around. He doesn't care. Neither should you.

I did it legit once, it was awesome, I took a video of it. No one is going to take away that experience of completing the raid first week, not very many people did. But I will cheese it until it is patched then go back to legit, if another cheese method is found I will go for that as well. I did it once, from then on it is only concerned with the fastest possible method to do it after the fact. This method works in a number of other games, but some people get an emotional attachment to Destiny which is why you have reactions like this. Players will find exploits, it is your choice after that fact to not engage in that said exploit, but just be aware you are wasting your time compared to people that do.

But 99% of groups I join only want to cheese it. And so I stand a chance to get loot. I follow along because I'm not skilled enough to solo the raid. Simply put

Honestly i get what your saying. This is not like boosting in CoD though. This is a flaw in the game that should have been instantly patched when the community discovered it. No one modded a console or messed with any code. I think a lot of people beat crota straight up last week, and cheesed him over the weekend.

You would like to see personal information including the income of people who post on a forum for a video game so you can tally up some nonsense in regards to their posting habits? I think you should seek professional help, my friend. This game has taken a turn for the worse in your minds' eye. That request is possibly the most ludicrous statement I've read in quite some time.

1 返信You know what? Just because there are sooooo many of these retarded posts, I'm going to go cheese both raids tomorrow. And I'll be thinking about you and smiling while I do it.

Bungie themselves don't care about your time as proven by the way they handled the exotic upgrades.

5 通の返信Nice that you care and all. But i for one could give 3 shits about what others are doing in the game. All i care about is playing the damn game, have fun,and not worry about what others are doing. Not trying to be a douche, but seriously who gives a -blam!- what others are doing.

Iam amazed each day about how serious some ppl take this game and its PVE content. And for the love of god... What does my money income have to do with the way I post, lol... Stop caring about other persons achievements in a console game and grow up.

1 返信Agreed. Finding out what to do the first day was one of the best gaming experiences I've had. Shame we have people exploiting everything. Wish Bungie would actually start caring and fixing things promptly. It can't take THAT long to fix

2 通の返信I'd rather not cheese in any video game really, but dude: It's a video game. You fail to realize what you've accomplished and are instead bothered by what others haven't.

Adamにより編集済み: 12/23/2014 6:49:23 AMPeople will always take the path of least resistance.... It's just human nature. I got in an argument with a guy from my raiding group the other day 'cos I wanted to actually do the raid legit rather than just cheese free loot. I kept pointing out that while we were together we may as well teach guys the mechanics of each section for when it's patched. It never happened of course. SIgh.

1 返信People cheat because 90% of the time the loot is not rewarding at all. 7-10 hours for what, another raid ship?

Are you a 22 lazy fat kid with people you party w but no real friends or goals and accomplishments life other than a legit Croata win? Cheesed it after this week , after many attempts over the past weeks. Tens of hours. I'd have no issue doing legit , but with friends who can't stay long, have lower levels, random others who suck. .. i feel It was time. And unlike cheating in competition the only loss is the satisfaction of doing legit. Deal * edit, written while on phone - go ahead and nitpick the grammer.

"The time I put in should be worth something." So, the meaningfulness of your actions are completely dependent on what other people do, then? LOL YOU should care what YOU do and know that you got something out of your experience. Dragging others down with names and whining just shows jealousy and immaturity. If you don't like "cheating", then don't do it and carry on with your life. /thread
