If it existed at any point in the next million years someone would have already come back at some point in history. You may say they have strict regulations against exposing themselves to us. However say that it was created in the year 4000 if it existed for all time after that then someone at some point with access to time travel clearance would have gone crazy or depressed and likely said -blam!- regulations and gone back and done something stupid in order to purposefully reveal their existence and show proof by telling people what will happen on a given date.
Edit: this is also not including the obvious science to why we couldn't bend time/space without pretty much destroying the planet lol.

Well, you can go forward in time no problem. And how do you know that time travel is impossible, and not that humans just never figured it out? In theory, going back in time requires one to travel from one point to another faster than the speed of light, which is a concept voyager being researched by nasa right now.

Or what if each time someone came back they changed something small then the butterfly effect made him never be born so the timeline went back to normal and then he came back and then changed something small then the butterfly effect made him never be born so the timeline went back to normal and we are all in a continuous loop...

What if when you time travelled you were teleported back in time in the exact spot where you got into the time machine with the galaxy having no human determined reference point and everything constantly moving there is probably a bunch of dead future human bodies in space. And the amount of time it would take to build one big enough to fit a spaceship would be too expensive to be used to come back now. They would probably use it in case of emergency if they -blam!- something up beyond repair or to warn us about an alien invasion.

10 通の返信It's mathematically proven that time traveling even once would deplete all of the Earth's resources several times over.

Scientists speculate that it is so powerful that the micro wormhole it creates will be enough for time travel to be possible. Since time travel can only take you back as far as the first machine that made it possible, time travelers could start visiting at that point. Actually pretty interesting stuff.

If I developed a time machine, I would falsify evidence to say that it didn't exist. Because it only takes one neo--godwinslaw!- to ruin everything.

My reason is that you'd have to move every particle in the universe back to it's previous location, along with all the energy released. At which point it would be easier to just make your own universe, or simulate one.

6 通の返信I think it's weird to think that people are alive in like.. the future. That can't be possible.

2 通の返信Timeline? Time isn't made of lines, time is made of circles, that is why clocks are round.

Well, our current understanding of time travel would only allow someone to go back in time to the creation of the time machine. But, that's using wormholes for time travel. Of course, there's the possibility we didn't survive long enough to make a time machine at all.

2 通の返信I'm going with GhostViper on this. Clearly, the TimeCops apprehend the guilty before they can commit the crime. This essentially 'retcons' the infringement on time travel laws.
