Vote "Yes" if you think the system should be scrapped.
Vote "No" if you like the system in its current state.
The Light/Level system after level 20 is Destiny's greatest flaw. It needs to be revised.
Character progression should not be based solely on gear.
This idea is ridiculous and is the cause of the majority of complaints with The Dark Below. Guardians have a major problem when they feel their hard work and time has been rendered useless. And if it isn't changed now, it will happen again (and again and again).
Any time new gear is released we will be forced to either abandon old gear or undergo whatever arbitrary method Bungie uses to "upgrade" old gear.
There needs to be some form of real Guardian progression! Progression that is not tied to the helmet currently worn.
It makes no sense that a Guardian of the highest caliber, who has braved the Vault of Glass countless times, regresses to infancy without his or her precious gear!
Furthermore, a system of real character progression would allow for new specialization and customization of Guardians. It would allow us to branch out! Diversify! Not every Guardian is the same. Allow us to develop our Guardians according to play style!
Please Discuss.
Edit: Also allows for trading without breaking the game.

1 返信The light system should let you transfer levels above 20 among your handful of characters. You could play a Warlock long enough to get all the skills and playstyle down, then borrow your Hunter or Titan's gear and jump into high-level content with a new class. That would be a cool use of the light level system... of course that's the one thing we can't do that because your light level's tied to class-specific equipment. This is why everyone I know with multiple characters is throwing out diversity to run three of the same character type. Light should be tied to a custom ghost maybe? Spaceship? Something portable that would lend a bit of family resemblance or common identity to all your characters without restricting experimentation with different game mechanics. The worst thing about Light is that the game has to introduce all kinds of drag on the game around getting and improving equipment after 20... all kinds of marks, materials, commendations, RNGeezus... rather than just demanding you earn a ton of XP to participate in cool new missions. So you've got to level up from 24-30 (or 30-33 now) on each and every gun and piece of armor (perk combination) you want to use instead of just trying something new and deciding if you like it or not. PRETTY STUPID IDEA FOR A SHOOT-EM-UP.

1. The game is a SHOOTER with MMO elements that was designed to make those elements palatable to a console-based shooter audience. 2. That audience is used to games that enable progression through a series of gear changes and gear unlocks. Not character-class based skill trees. 3. If you are someone who is an MMO-RPG player you may be comfortable with an expanding skill tree, but you are also used to seeing gear as a static entity and a POSSESSIOn...rather than an evolving PROCESS. Stop looking at your gear as a THING...and strat looking at it as the means why which the game grants you new powers and abilities. Instead of teh icing on the cake...it is now the cake itself.

No. This is a shooter that borrows heavily from RPG elements. A lot of players seem to miss that fact and think everything should be spoon fed to them. The current Light system is fine. When enemies get stronger, you're going to need new armor and weapons to combat them. Deal with it.

I agree. It would also stop people from cheese ng with three characters using the same gear for all three to establish 3xs the amount of stuff for one player. IMO each character should have to earn their own. Only thing I think should be shared is weapons.

And by doing this the old gear still has a place for lower lv players. Same with the raids. Every thing will have its place in the game just by having the light as an upgrade and not be your level I would like to see your lv 32 and then light lv 10 or something like that.

Yes you are correct the light level or prestige should be tied to exp like all other games where in no way do you drop level because you changed your gear. I think borderlands 2 did a great job at this.. gear found after you next op level was dropped at that level.

1 返信Been preaching the anti light level since launch. Lord of the rings online has proven it's a failed mechanic

Well I'll partially agree, because any game of this nature gear is expendable. The goal is to get the best if that's your thing. And no matter what, when they release new expansions, gear levels will go up. However as you said, every other game I know gear is tied to your LEVEL. Not how much of it you have or how much you have leveled said gear. That's the problem people are having is because they have spent 6 days leveling that shiny new gun. Rather than progression through Xp, skill points, whatever. It should have been like it has been in pretty much every other game I can think of, I'm a new level, better weapons and armor now become available. Or at least leave the light leveling to armor. Having to level a gun even sounds crazy unless they had made all Legendaries like they did exotics. A commendation could have meant you also had the choice to upgrade a piece of equipment of your choosing to the new light level. That way my Shadow Price and my Vanguard helm would have been able to be relevant. The system is just a bad loot system, has been from the beginning.

Actually player progression being based solely on gear is not a new system and is actually a pretty good system. It also allows players to reach end game quicker allowing them to enjoy the best content in the game.

Make light level challenge based instead of gear based. Challenges can vary to cater to different play styles (PvP & pve with different paths in each to achieve L31) and they can still lock off the max level to those who raid by requiring raid challenges. This would also require max level players to have learned different roles in the raid meaning a L32 is actually an experienced player instead of someone who cheesed or got carried.

13 通の返信No, other games like WOW make previous raid gear meaningless or close to it. This what Destiny is doing. Nothing wrong with it IMO.

I wish we had a system similar to diablo 3's mystic vendor. In Diablo you can put any item skin on any weapon so long as u have unlocked said weapon. Kinda lame how we all look the same. This would make it so you wouldn't have to choose between being strong and looking how you want2.

1 返信I completely agree. Raid gear should be awesome but not for reaching max level. Who thought of this? There should be more skills, skill points and customization like more standard rpgs. Thats what makes them fun. Thinking up new cool builds and kicking ass.
