When I had my first scoliosis surgery, I almost died when I lost three thousand cc'sof blood. If it hadn't been for the doctor insisting that I have a catheter in place before the surgery started then I probably would have died. Nonetheless, they were unable to complete the surgery because I was bleeding so badly.
