Surely there's some cinematic you forgot to include.. or something. Surely you wouldn't have such a minuscule amount of story in this expansion after the complete backlash from release.
Please tell me this is a joke.
Edit:
So let me get this straight.
You faced a huge, negative backlash for the terrible and short story you gave us at release. You said you heard us, and that we were going to get more in the expansion. The expansion is here, and this is what you gives us?
3 missions, the first of which takes 5 minutes at most, while the other two are the standard ~15 minute missions.
No cinematics.
Eris hardly talking, but when she does, half the time she's not saying anything meaningful other than "kill X before Y!".
80% of the areas in the story missions are rehashed from previous missions.
You can't be serious Bungie. This is pathetic. What's your problem? Is this a matter of arrogance, cluelessness or both? For $20, this is a pitiable amount of story you've given us. Quite frankly, in light of the overwhelming criticism you've received story wise already, this is unacceptable.
Edit #2:
To those saying that the raid/strike are part of the story too: I watched streams of the raid. Just lol@the idea of it providing any real amount of story. The strike is your typical 10-15 minute strike. Do the other strikes provide story? No? Then what makes you think it's different this time around?
Besides all of that, wouldn't it be logical to assume that the STORY missions would provide the bulk of the STORY in this situation? If the story provided in the missions is terrible and substance-less, what makes you think the raid/strike, which don't revolve around story, will make the story any better?
Critical thinking, not even once.
Edit #3:
To those saying we should have known what we were buying, or that Bungie told us what would be in the DLC:
Woosh. That's the sound of you completely missing the point. Yeah, Bungie told us we'd have 3 story missions. What Bungie DIDN'T tell us is that these 3 story missions would be incredibly anemic/rehashed. The first mission takes 5 minutes, ffs. So no, Bungie did not tell us everything. There was absolutely no way we could have known beforehand just how lazy the implementation was going to be.
Edit #4:
To those saying that this game isn't about story, or that shooter's in general don't have good stories:
First of all, your statement is completely irrelevant. Second,
Embark on an epic action adventure with rich cinematic storytelling
That quote is taken directly from the website, from Bungie. Obviously the company you're white-knighting so hard doesn't agree with you.
Also, are we going to just ignore the fact that Bungie was the creator of Halo, one of the best shooters ever created, with GREAT story telling at the same time? Can someone explain how Bungie can create a shooter like Halo with adequate story-telling, yet completely fail years later in their next IP?
Gears of War is also another shooter that had great story-telling. Obviously great stories and shooters are not mutually exclusive.

Last night I was doing the mission that takes you to the cutscene w the Queen in the reef. I might be a geek but that scene set my imagination on fire, and how cool is it to see the guardian that you created on screen in an action scene? Well it's awesome. Adding story content and a cut scene can suck me in and makes me want to immerse myself in the destiny world. Unfortunately we didn't get that, and although I will still grind for a month or so I don't know how much longer. I feel like the DLC is a cover up with something they lost on the way. It's a beautiful game and as one person said thou; "THIS IS THE DUMBEST GAME I HAVE EVER LOVED". .. Bungie has all of it in place, they just need to implement more depth, otherwise they will see many leave for a game that draws one in to the character even more. PEACE. Edit: as I read the commentaries I think many must have blinders on. You have no idea how much I love this game. I've bought an extra console so my partner and I can play at the same time just because of this game. I also have a lil shrine w my limited editon stuff. Lol. Besides the point, I think we have to get real, or at least I do and ask myself does my brain and senses need and should expect more? The answer for me is yes.

1 返信Let's quickly review the DLC, eh? Mission 1: Kill hive in the same tunnels that have been there since the start. No new areas. Mission 2: Kill a few reskinned hive in an single new area (that was there since Beta). One new area (hallway + a single room). Mission 3: Kill a few reskinned hive in the same Hive moon-base you've visited 1000 times before. One new area for the boss battle. Interlude 1: Kill Hive in the normal patrol areas. No new areas or monsters. Interlude 2: Kill 3 special re-skinned Hive hidden around the earth patrol areas (I thought this was neat) Strike: Kill hive across the earth patrol areas. One new area for the boss battle. So, new content consists of three rooms and a hallway. The first DLC mission is 100% content that was used for patrols and you already know like the back of your hand. That's frankly embarrassing for a $20 DLC.

1 返信Cheers Bungie, I will be holding on to my £20 and using it against a different game now. I have blindly supported this game since the beta and thought you would keep your promises. I was in for the longhaul and looking forward to the ride but what we all thought WOULD happen with this DLC appears to HAVE happened. You have now made yourself undefendable....i'm out!

3 通の返信My favorite part about the "new" content is the .... Drop you off at the ending of a previous mission and let you play through the same area in reverse and BAM! n we mission.. Whenever I get into my truck on the passenger side, BAM! NEW TRUCK! I would have loved to be at the creative planning meeting for that idea. I imagine a squirrel eating a walnut at the end of a long table. With a concept Image on the presentation board of a duck in a leotard. Meanwhile all the others are bobblehead figures bobbing away.... With a studio recording of a clapping audience playing at a deafening level...

Bump! This DLC is a miserable joke. I really thought they would add more story, much more content and volume to make the grind more enjoyable. I'm only playing this game for PvP. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/83880735/0/0/1

9 通の返信I bought some veggie dip one time and I didn't like it. It said that it was super amazing on the container but I still didn't like it. Amazingly enough I resisted the urge to boycott the grocery store. I just threw it out and moved on with my life. (Disclaimer: I had my big boy pants on that day, could be an unfair advantage I know.)

15 通の返信Have you checked out the grimoire though? The story is all there, you just need to read it. Goodness, princesses today get mad that they had to pay $20 to play an excellent game. Complain about the story, it's there. Just read it.

5 通の返信There is a lot of things that were originally were in Destiny that never made it to the final build if the game. If you were following the game from the Alpha you'd see that. According to a game tester, "The game that was released was not the game I tested." Also, Bungie release SO much teasers of content that were obviously removed from the game. For example, the were countless videos of Old Chicago, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mercury which is even a playable Crucible map but not a playable planet. Now, yes they could be releasing this for DLC but that would just confirm that they are being greedy or Activision is calling the shots. Another thing is that the lead story writer (The same one from the Halo series) abruptly resigned a year before release of Destiny. Now why wouldn't he wait just one more year instead if letting all that hard work go to waste? I believe that Bungie had to cut the story to make it into a T rated game. They cut the story he wrote so and rewrote it in the last year. The only evidence I have is there was cutscenes released before the beta of Crow (The Queens brother) confronting you at gunpoint in the cosmodrone. Which never occurred in the actual game. So I speculate that he resigned because they decided the cut all of his hard work and that explain why the game lacks in story and feels so easy and repetitive. Think about it, making the game less complex and targeting a younger audience would explain why it's so easy and repetitive. Things that seem easy for a 17+ year old actually would be harder for a 15- year old whose brain isn't as developed as ours. Now the question is will Bungie fix all these problems in Destiny 2? I think because I believe that they're trying to sell this game to the younger audience and sell this game to them for another 10 years rather than sell it to the older audience that has a job, school, family, etc who probably won't be able to invest as much into the game as a 15- year old who has WAY more free time and his/her parents money to spend. Again some of this is pure speculation, but some of this is fact. Don't get me wrong I was so pumped for this game but at the end of the day Bungie just didn't release the game they promised us. Is it a 60$ game? I think so, but definitely not even close to game of the year in my book.

Well, Well the time destiny came out i had a lot of fun, after the $hitload of patch and connection problems i still said to myself, come on dude, can´t be any worse from that point. but i came..... now the dlc is out (in germany for 35 €) which i think is more than just fu(kin expensive for a few things in it. i actually was about to buy it, but than today i went online and i saw they put nightfall strike on lvl 30 which isn´t the actuall problem, but that it can only played by once who buy the dlc is totaly fu(ked up. what would come next??? shut down pvp for those who don´t buy it??? just to make them buy the dlc??? i guess some ppl will be with me with this opinion now, and some don´t. for me i just can tell i don´t buy the dlc, because i have the feeling i will wast this money and future money to a game which bungie is fu(kin up with every patch or dlc. i feel so sad i haven´t knew it earlyer, well 70 € is gone for ever. i wish u a$$holes would give me my money back for this joke u call a game. if theres is any possibility ull give me my money back or at least half of it, let me know. i send u the bill with the cd directly..... and i know u b!tches just don´t fu[kin care, but this was the last bungie or activision game i bought. cheers

I love how finally the trolls are getting bashed on this thread... Like the idiot moron people who try to use the same Meg burn, etc... They just get roasted by us real players who actually don't mind spending but would just like what was expected. Those expectations are even quoted on bungies website, lol. Yet you still get a random troll idiot saying "stop whining". Legendary this post. You've identified almost all the troll types in your edits yet they still come to be roasted. Good job standing up on this thread all the non-zombie people willing to stand up for what's right and not be afraid to speak your mind. And a big screw you to all the trolls who white-knight the people stealing money at most and expectations at the least.

5 通の返信This is what I was looking for as an honest review. Liked +1 Destiny gets shelved, no dlc for me. Had a feeling they'd copy/paste content and slap a DLC label on it. Damn, what happened to you Bungie you use to be so cool before you started hanging out with those back of the class kids. Now you're smoking and wearing a leather jacket beating people up for dlc money.
