Why the hell does everyone pass up the 1st chest after the Templar?
Why does everyone skip the 1st chest, that's in the "Spirit Bloom" room? I've never opened it because it's always announced not to. Out of respect for the team I follow the wishes of my teammates, but no one can really give a good reason not to... Mostly it's about a better chance at receiving a better drop from a chest further in. I've also heard that it is all a rumor and that we are skipping it for no reason and missing out on loot.
Please enlighten me about the pros & cons about looting the chest or not... I'm really tempted to open it the next time I run the raid just to test it myself, not without letting my team know ahead of time.

11 通の返信As I read this I realized that when our fireteam opens the chest no one gets an exotic from the later chest can anyone prove me wrong (please do)

2 通の返信Because people are dumb... The real questions is, why the hell is that chest there? Why in gods name would they put a single "normal" chest in the raid? The only thing I can think of is that they wanted to be able to tip people off that that passage existed by hearing the little chiming noise loot boxes make.

4 通の返信Actually that's the chest i use to farm Spirit Bloom. Start the Raid, Kill the Templar, Open chest. Repeat. I get, like, 5/6 Spirit Bloom a week. Rolling in it!

6 通の返信There's never anything in it that I want or need. Most of the time its nothing but Spirit bloon. When it isn't, you just get a few Uncommon items that are good for nothing but weapons parts. So there's no point in wasting time opening it.

It dosnt do anything that i know off. It def dosnt affect the no teleport chest. Only thing that will is if u take to long to find it it will dissapear and if someone touches the ground in the gorgon maze the chest will dissapear also.

4 通の返信I once got an ascendant energy from this chest. Super RNGesus roll apparently lol. My whole team was convinced that I had just broken down a weapon at the same exact time.

7 通の返信The spirit bloom chest acts like a timer. Once it's opened the Teleport chest you would get from Templar is on a timer and disappears after a certain amount of time. I believe it's 5 minutes. My team and I have confirmed this as we tested the theory and stood at the chest in the room and it disappeared. However, since it's 5 minutes we usually open the bloom chest anyway. It's pretty much safe if you know how to get to the other chest in time. As for more chance of exotic, not true at all. Just speculation with no data to back it up. I did a minor trial with my characters and it does not seem to affect the drop rate for exotic. Granted it's a small population in number but Bungies limit to once a week, I've been only able to open it on both characters 8 times. One character open the blooms, one doesn't. In 8 times, both my characters have gotten 2 exotics from it. Although the number is small, it shows no significant(possibly, need more testing). Happy Raiding!

I had always assumed that the spirit bloom chest was a decoy... People would eventually fin the room and be like 'oh sweet a chest spawns after we kill the Templar in here!' Then wouldnt see the secret tunnel you could drop into. They'd assume that was all there was to the room and go back and drop down to the gorgon maze :P

9 通の返信Supposedly you can't get the chest in the Atheon room if you open that one, there are other factors that are required to make this final chest appear but apparently this is one of them.

It gives you green engrams and spirit blooms only. Its likea. Regular chest in venus. Its also my personal belief that the exotic chest right after it likely won't have an exotic or it will disappear. Never have time to confirm either but why risk not getting an icebreaker for spirit blooms? Haha

3 通の返信Because idiots still think that if you open the chest that you have a reduced chance of getting an exotic from the exotic chest and that starts a timer.

2 通の返信The only reason I don't open it is because I have personal belief I have better luck with loot drops and the other chests if I leave it be. I have nothing to substantiate the claim, it's just how I feel. I don't care if others open it, but I won't.
