Edit: It sounds like a lot of people leaving comments have not had such great experiences with these sites. Here are some things to look for when choosing someone to join/pick up.
1. I hate to say it, but if their post is well-written, that's a fantastic sign. That USUALLY speaks to maturity, or at the very least, semi-intelligence. If they use text speak, or misspell a lot of words, I don't even bother.
2. Look at the information they list. The post should contain Level, Class, and weapon level at the very least. Usually people will add what they are trying to do, if they have a checkpoint, or if they are looking for one.
3. When messaging someone to ask for an invite, be sure to include your own information. I have to say, it is kind of annoying to get ten messages that just say "inv" after taking the time to post detailed information on three different websites. And half the time, the people that send those messages don't meet the criteria I lay out.
4. If you're the one looking to put a group together, don't be afraid to be picky. A few extra minutes to find someone that meets your criteria could save you hours of play time.
I hope at least one person finds this helpful. It's how I always choose people to raid with. Some lemons get through every now and then, but it's a pretty decent method. Oh, and you can always use the super secret test to determine if the person you just invited to your raid group is useful... ASK THEM IF THEY KNOW HOW TO USE THE RELIC!
If you don't know how to use the relic, do everyone a favor and at least look up the controls. I'm sure there are how to videos as well. It's not difficult, and you may have to pick it up when fighting Atheon.
I really, very much, appreciate and respect higher level, more experienced players lending their assistance to fellow gamers. This is what I like to see. It's way better than platform wars.
Edit: Someone made a great point in the comments. (I apologize for forgetting your name in the time it took to scroll up and hit "edit".) A lot of people are citing a lack of time as the main reason they have not even attempted the raid. There are checkpoints throughout the raid. If you're experienced, or playing with a group that is, each checkpoint should take around fifteen or twenty minutes, give or take.
These checkpoints save until the end of the Destiny week, a.k.a Tuesday morning. At that point, they all reset unless you're still signed in and playing during the reset time. Any completion at that point will save for the current week.
The point is, if you can get about an hour in every day, that gives you seven hours to complete the raid. Using a group forged from one of the websites above really lends itself to that. People don't mind so much if you bail, as long as you let them know that you have limited time at some point BEFORE you back out. Then, when you have some more time to spare, you can find another group and pick up where you left off.
Happy raiding during the next few days! I will be busy with the dlc.

I'm a vog noob on 360 lvl 27 warlock, I have a large window to play right now so if anyone is willing to bein me through that would be awesome gt is same as above and I have a mic (be warned, im a relatively young player)

Great post. I am on ps4 and have done the raid enough times to know what is going on. The best thing to do is get 5 noobs together so you are all less stressed with getting it done quickly. If you can get 5 lvl 26 noobs together and need someone to help then invite me. I am very patient as I am only an average player myself. If I have time I will be happy to help. I have a lvl 30 warlock and a 25 Titan that I am upgrading. For those who think you don't have the time, there are checkpoints you can save, so you get a week to do it. Just get three lots of one/two hours spare in a week and you'll be fine!

11 通の返信Have tried it but everyone ends up leaving after the first few wipes. Plus mostly everyone I know is very inexperienced with the relic. (Including me) but I would love to learn!

For me its just a time issue, I work up to 60 hours a week and have a fiance and flatmates (roommates for you Americans) I manage between 5-10 hours play time each week but never in a stretch more than an hour at a time Most days I get some bounties done and maybe the daily heroic Wold love to do the raid but so far the closest ive been is helping groups open the door while I'm patroling on venus

1 返信I haven't done the raid. Nearly did it but the group I was with got stuck on the bit with the 2 gates. All my mates went off to other games so i never got to see big boss. Now whenever ive looked for people to try it with they only want high level experienced players so i gave up xD. (only level 26)

I am a level 28 hunter and I have not even tried the raid once yet, I may be called a " raid virgin". I have a lack of time due to school and other things but i have seen it completed once before and I am excited to attack it with a group of people. Hopefully my team will be willing to show me where the chests are and what to do.

3 通の返信Played since launch day and just shy of 400 hours over 3 chars. Did my 1st Nightfalls/Raids 2 weeks ago after finally accepting a random invite from the tower and meeting some really nice folk who were happy to point me (repeatedly) to be in the right spot at the right time so I could be of value to the team rather than luggage :P I'm still not comfortable with the relic but have done my share of cleansing when needed. I've still to try to solo Mars or Venus and I still tend to run away from the relic whenever I'm one of the 3 teleported shrieking NOT ME !! ;) Only 6 completions so far, hopefully more runs will remove the fear of letting the team down and I'll be able to take my turn in any role. I wish I'd accepted invites months ago ! I would have 3 30's instead of 3 29's I'd imagined the Raid would need perfect teamwork, military precision and many hours to complete. It was actually great fun and has never lasted more than 90 mins start to finish. Gameplay isnt hard and provided your team are all 'grown ups' its great fun ! Laughing at and being laughed at on the disappearing platform section ! Knocking people off the bottom platform while waiting for stragglers. Getting lost in the dark bits and the others taking the piss ! 1st run was pretty stressful but since then its been a blast. I still have to make sure I'm not last or I get lost on the descent ;) Mind boggles at the 1st team in there and the head scratching that must have gone on. I had a total mental block for 300 hours. I DONT HAVE FRIENDS WITH XB1 and DESTINY :( I CANT RAID :( Accepting invites from total strangers in the tower seemed an alien concept but in the 2 weeks I've got over it I've met new friends to play with and enjoyed easy Weeklies/Nightfalls and my 1st Raids.

I have not been able to finish the raid because I don't have enough leisure time due to work But since the holidays are approaching, I will finally sit down and enjoy Destiny So hit me up if you wanna play, XONE GT: HeroOfYearZero

1 返信Add me on XBOX ONE if you are looking to beat the VoG on both normal or hard difficulties. I have one of each of the three characters, all level 30. Would love to help some of you out.. -Xarnage

1 返信I've only ever beaten the raid with groups that do it on a regular basis. Very gracious. Using LFG groups and forums is almost 90% of the time likely to fail.

2 通の返信MMI2009により編集済み: 12/6/2014 7:31:29 PMYes im level 29 titan. Yes I'm a raid virgin. Yes I appreciate posts like this offering help. I have been invited many times to both levels of raid and have explained my noobyness and have not been offended by the inviters not wanting me to join. I would love to run raids. I have in the past helped lesser levels than I attain their first daily/ weekly / nightfall strikes and have also made up teams with 30's so they could do them even though I had already done them. So if anyone out in xbox 360 land would be kind enough to show me the raid ropes I would be very grateful. My gt is mmi2009 I have a mic a midi a bad juju a gjallahorn have a fully upgraded auto legendary and solar rocket launcher. Please add me and invite me when you like. Thank you

I have never completed the raid mostly because I don't want to do it with random people. Me and my friends want to do it together and discover it ourselves, we tried a couple of times with random people but they were only interested on going to youtube and see how to do the next step... whats the point? So, since we are only 3 guys its a bit complicated to open the vault.. but one day we will open it and do it. There is no rush really.

N3m3siss86により編集済み: 12/6/2014 7:33:00 PMNo Raid veteran here. But spend enough time in the VOG on normal to know what i am doing. Only problems what i've been trough is the gatekeepers and relic holders. Love to hold the relic myself. But everyone should know what to do with it!! And when/how to help the relic holder.. So, my advise to new raiders is: look up some youtube vids. There enough out there to show you what to do. I'm on xbox one. I'm dutch but speak eng well. Feel free to add me on xbox for VOG help. Never did Hard, so no help from me on that side. GT is same as above.
