Edit: It sounds like a lot of people leaving comments have not had such great experiences with these sites. Here are some things to look for when choosing someone to join/pick up.
1. I hate to say it, but if their post is well-written, that's a fantastic sign. That USUALLY speaks to maturity, or at the very least, semi-intelligence. If they use text speak, or misspell a lot of words, I don't even bother.
2. Look at the information they list. The post should contain Level, Class, and weapon level at the very least. Usually people will add what they are trying to do, if they have a checkpoint, or if they are looking for one.
3. When messaging someone to ask for an invite, be sure to include your own information. I have to say, it is kind of annoying to get ten messages that just say "inv" after taking the time to post detailed information on three different websites. And half the time, the people that send those messages don't meet the criteria I lay out.
4. If you're the one looking to put a group together, don't be afraid to be picky. A few extra minutes to find someone that meets your criteria could save you hours of play time.
I hope at least one person finds this helpful. It's how I always choose people to raid with. Some lemons get through every now and then, but it's a pretty decent method. Oh, and you can always use the super secret test to determine if the person you just invited to your raid group is useful... ASK THEM IF THEY KNOW HOW TO USE THE RELIC!
If you don't know how to use the relic, do everyone a favor and at least look up the controls. I'm sure there are how to videos as well. It's not difficult, and you may have to pick it up when fighting Atheon.
I really, very much, appreciate and respect higher level, more experienced players lending their assistance to fellow gamers. This is what I like to see. It's way better than platform wars.
Edit: Someone made a great point in the comments. (I apologize for forgetting your name in the time it took to scroll up and hit "edit".) A lot of people are citing a lack of time as the main reason they have not even attempted the raid. There are checkpoints throughout the raid. If you're experienced, or playing with a group that is, each checkpoint should take around fifteen or twenty minutes, give or take.
These checkpoints save until the end of the Destiny week, a.k.a Tuesday morning. At that point, they all reset unless you're still signed in and playing during the reset time. Any completion at that point will save for the current week.
The point is, if you can get about an hour in every day, that gives you seven hours to complete the raid. Using a group forged from one of the websites above really lends itself to that. People don't mind so much if you bail, as long as you let them know that you have limited time at some point BEFORE you back out. Then, when you have some more time to spare, you can find another group and pick up where you left off.
Happy raiding during the next few days! I will be busy with the dlc.

104 通の返信TacticalGH0STにより編集済み: 12/6/2014 5:05:54 AMYes there are still people. Here are some reasons why: 1) I'm military and I work from 0500-1800 everyday. 2) I can't sit and play video games 24 hours a day 3) majority of adults have jobs as well and not always on the same time schedule as others 4) I don't feel like adding a hundred people to my friends list in order just to get 6 people to play. 5) majority of the people who complete the raid are the same people who only play with each other because they think since they're level 30 that they're better than everyone else when in fact I'm level 29, have every exotic maxed out, and play just as good as you. P.S. Hence that's why Bungie needs to add matchmaking. Have it just like the strikes, if someone ragequits, it should automatically pull someone else in who's searching for a match. 3 通の返信I haven't done VoG, and have only done the Nightfall once. The solar shields on the shanks were a surprise there, and I felt like I was being revived every 3 minutes. If the VoG is more difficult, then man....Clearly I needed some weapon upgrades. I've spent the last two weeks working on that, and I have purchased a mic, but I have yet to run into anyone who uses a mic. I don't want to do a Raid without some commo; I've read about it, but am a bit nervous I'm gonna be THAT clueless guy. Heck, I don't even have a fire team to do the weekly heroic with! seanintx lvl28-29 Warlock PS4

5 通の返信For ALL the you people who say the raid is SO EASY, must of you are full of BS! Yes I've beaten it ONCE. With a good team. I'm tired of getting on and hearing people talking all kinds of crap on how easy it is and when we start playing they get owned. I'm sorry but it's not that easy. AND for all of those who say hard is easy, you're really full of BS. (Bungie's stats even show only about 5% finish the hard mode and only about 35% finish the normal mode) It's fun and it takes some team work which I love. But saying you don't understand how anyone could not have completed it, well you're being a conceded something. (not going to say jerk cause you might be a nice person but still) It's only "easy" if all of your weapons are fully upgraded, you have the latest and great gear and weapons, and your TEAM is really good. That's how and why people do not finish the raid.

7 通の返信oHELLSTRYKEoにより編集済み: 12/8/2014 4:49:13 AMHere's a perfect reason as to why I can not finish a raid. So I have never completed a raid on any level and it's pretty sad when when I can out kill a level 30 with less superior weapons. So we are at the Templar and one idiot decided, I want to switch characters cause I have raid armor on my other character that I want to level. So then he comes back with his character at level 26, I'm guessing to get carried to the end, getting the prizes and leveling up his gear. Then all of a sudden one idiot just starts pushing people off the ledge killing everyone. Then dancing around. Yep you got it mr. Level 26 dancing away. So I get fed up and say, look are we just going to f*#k around or are we moving on? Almost an hour wasted of my time. This is the kind of shit that frustrates me!!! So once again I say screw this and leave. I would love to actually finish off my raid gear. But then I'm thinking why in the hell am I even bothering anymore, come Tuesday the only thing about having the raid gear, will show you actually went into the VoG!! One day I will complete it but at this point I think it's about time to give up. I have been into the VoG 7 times now with out a completion, got two gauntlets, two boots, found verdict and a corrective measures. Besides ending up with a group of kids that screw around or just leave cause they got what they needed the other reason for no completion is Destiny's many disconnects!

1 返信I'm boycotting the MMO aspects of the game. I don't agree with the path Bungie took.

2 通の返信I am a level 28 hunter and I have not even tried the raid once yet, I may be called a " raid virgin". I have a lack of time due to school and other things but i have seen it completed once before and I am excited to attack it with a group of people. Hopefully my team will be willing to show me where the chests are and what to do.

2 通の返信Another oneにより編集済み: 12/7/2014 5:14:19 PMHaven't attempted yet and I'm a 28 hunter. Don't have a lot of time but if I could get a good group together today, I've got time to do it. Xbone GT- A piastic bag

2 通の返信Never done the raid, I had a broken mic for a while but I got a new one. I was also discouraged for a while because of posts of people dealing with "unpleasants" and "unpleasant" raid experiences. But, with the release of The Dark Below right around the corner, I think it would be a fun experience doing the VoG for the first time with a kind group willing to teach me. 1 返信I haven't completed it yet mainly because I'm technologically challenged and don't know how to use a headset or put on group chat.

Jar Jar Blinksにより編集済み: 12/8/2014 1:03:00 AMLvl 30 warlock here. Maxed out icebreaker, maxed out The Cure (void) and a maxed out timepiece once I'm able to get on later tonight/early morning. I'm more than willing to help anyone out with the raid. I have plenty if raid experience without the completions. I've ran into the constant trouble of having a group that does not want to make the push to beat aetheon after 5-6 wipes. Normally there are two newer players to the raid and they're not patient enough for the learning curve. I'm normally on during the week after I get off work. I live in Indiana and work until around 2:30 in the morning. So I'll be on from 3-8 am. I'm even open to helping run weekly heroic and nightfalls if not enough players are available for a raid. Send messages/requests to burnt_toast-12 and be sure to let me know. Be sure to mention "help with raiding/weekly/nightfall" so I know to add you. :) I always keep my firetream open to the public for anyone looking for a hand with anything. Even if it's just running random strikes, bounties, farming, anything. Even level 20s that need help doing higher level things to get towards better light gear. EDIT: I'm on PS4

I have never done a raid through. I have been trying to level up my weapons enough to take it on. I also had a bunch of Exotic Bounties to get through so it's been a grind. I'm done with most of them but still have to do the Thorn strike which is crazy. But I think I'm ready. Going to go for it next weekend.

2 通の返信I have not done a raid yet. Have a two month old baby in the house. So setting a side a time todo the raid is probably near impossible

10 通の返信The list for PS3 is looking a little scant, so you can add me. I tend to do the normal raid 3x a week and am usually willing to bring a couple of n00bs along with each one (though too many at once usually doesn't work out). PSN:db0ssman-_- Also for a bit of shameless promotion, If you are looking for a clan that is somewhere in between a serious PvE clan and a casual PvE clan I suggest you check out Free Fighters Association. We don't have any lofty goals like being the first clan to beat crota's end, but the goals are more like try to run through it before everything gets spoiled on the internet. (ps: you need to have at least one character with a minimum rank of 27 to join) http://www.bungie.net/en/Clan/Detail/340271

28 'loc on 360, haven't done the raid. Every time my clan would get together to go for it, someone would d/c within 5 minutes, and now half of them have hopped consoles. I'm too antisocial to join up with a group I haven't played with at least one member of for a while to ensure we work well together.

I am level 28 warlock on 360 never beat the raid, tried it at level 26 and my team and I wiped at the -blam!-ing gatekeeper would love to find some peeps to give it a go. Great post I will definitely check out the sites
