I'm so happy that I've spent 360 hours of my life obtaining and fully upgrading multiple exotic weapons/armor so that my progress can be reset. Thanks bungie, this is exactly what I want for Christmas. You nailed it
Edit: I'm not going to keep explaining myself to everyone who isn't reading the reply threads. I'm not upset about being able to make my equipment better. Yes, I understand that it is optional. I'm upset about the way we have to go about the upgrading process.

You have two high level characters. Grab the bounties after your nightfall and you will have it fully upgraded by the end of the day. (24 bounties across both characters) We will say for posterity sake that all 24 of those bounties are only worth 2500 xp (even though most of them are double that) and two daily stories at 7500 XP a pop. That gives you 60,000 to 120,000XP for the bounties, another 15,000 for the daily stories and anywhere from 3,000 to 6,000 for the daily patrol missions. Totaling (not including the XP for the mob kills from the stories or the bounties/patrols or XP from killing guardians in the crucible or XP gained in the crucible). 78,000 to 141,000 XP before adding in your 20% more for the nightfall. After nightfall that would make it 86,800 to 155,100 XP. That is for one day. You won't even notice the upgrade process.

Phezzickにより編集済み: 12/4/2014 10:25:58 PMOne: exotics are not the best. It is a matter of opinion. Strictly speaking the only difference between them and legendaries are base stats, different perks (which can be said for any weapon), and the ability to only equip one at a time. Two: i have more exotics than i need, or could ever even use as you can only equip one at a time. I only carry the ones i actually have a use for, and vault everything else. Three: i am definantly NOT a pvp player. Strictly speaking i hate pvp. The only pvp stats i have are there because of exotic bounties and iron banner. I gave up on playing pvp religously with the first cod black ops. I dont have a problem with the new system because i knew, before the details were released, that most of my exotics would probably be replaced by the new gear anyways. I dont pay for dlc just to keep using the same gear that i've been using since launch. I welcome some more variety. If you guys want to keep using your current exotics, more power to you if thats how you want to play.

I do agree, however, they should have kept it around longer as a means to help people get those items. I happened to be out of town for the entire event. I'm not upset about my current level. I realize that there were ways given to me to get to 30. I'm upset about the upgrade process going forward. I feel that there could have been a better way to make my guns better like completing a mission where I get an upgrade item that unlocks an additional upgrade slot or something. Resetting the guns feels like going backwards
Not as if it takes long to level an exotic. Not as if you use all your exotics. QQ less, and go play Mario Kart if you can't handle a few days worth of bounties.
Thats not the problem. You're forgetting about the 7000 glimmer per update part and buy resets from xur AND buy exotic shards to max them. The problem isnt the reset. The problem is the upgrade costs

If u have too many coins to spend go ahead but not all ppl share that thought and/or have many coins to spare. Also theres the armour and weapons that xur sells which also requires coins. Dont think u've thought this through
