Personally I am now not buying the dlc and will probably trade the game - thus losing bungie sales. This is because they are deleting our exotic progress on Tuesday and forcing us all to start from scratch if we want our exotics to be practical moving forward.
Who else is now spending their money elsewhere and giving up the game?
Many are complaining about the time it will take to re-level exotics. No no no no no. I've spent hours upgrading my exotics but doing that again is NOT MY COMPLAINT!
The problem is that our effort has literally been deleted because you do not need to have levelled the gun in order to evolve it to the next level.
If you needed your gun to be fully levelled before you could upgrade it i would actually be excited for this as the added power would mean we could finish the strikes faster
They have done it this way so that new players can immediately catch up with those further in the game. I have a couple of un-levelled exotics (bad juju, last word, truth, and that crappy bounty machine gun) and I'm glad I never spent the time to level them! This is not right
This is what we need to complain about: Bungie need to make it so that a weapon has to be fully upgraded before we can increase the level like this. One voice people!
Edit: because some people failed reading comprehension, let me state that of course I know that nobody is holding a gun to our heads making us upgrade, but if we want our guns to remain practical to use we will need to do this, even if not immediately.

3 通の返信I'm getting a little tired of the game now to be honest, I've been playing almost since day one and I've enjoyed the game and regard it is a great game. I don't think I'll be picking up the DLC now (not just because of the exotic debacle), I just find myself putting too much time in to the game when I could be doing other things. Still got Halo MCC and Assassins Creed Unity, maybe Dragon Age if I decide to buy it. I'll probably be back in a few weeks/months to see how things are going

8 通の返信Why have you not even tried leveling your Last word? That thing's special perks makes it a monster in pvp, the hip fire is just amazing.

1 返信I don't understand all the hate towards the exotic upgrade. You take an exotic you love, abd put it on par with a new one from the dlc. Why isn't it fair that you would have to Lvl it up just like a new weapon Bungie posted on PlayStation Twitter saying after upgrade the exotic will keep its 300 base stat. I'm personally very excited for dark below and so is all the friends and clan mates I play with.

7 通の返信Thanks for this post. We all care so much about whether or not you're going to play this game or not. Many of us, like myself, were on the edge of our seats, eager to find out your opinion on this game and your intent on continuing to play it or not. Now we know and can rest easy. Although were sad to see you go, at least now we can have closure. You should probably spend more time writing more comments on a forum of a game that you no longer want to play. It would be an optimal use of your time. Plus, like I said, we all care.

Patch after patch. Update after update. And it's the same shit Bitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitch NagNagNagNagNagNagNagNag Honestly, I've said it before, I'm gonna say it again. This is about the jist of it:- You’ll need three things. First, you need to own the original version of that exotic item, and turn it in to exchange for the upgraded version. It doesn’t matter if this old version of the item is brand new or fully upgraded. The process of upgrading exotic items is now faster, and does not require ascendant materials. To complete the upgrade, you’ll also need to turn in an exotic shard. This recently introduced new material is available for purchase for seven strange coins from Xur, or by breaking down another existing exotic item in your inventory. Finally, each exotic upgrade costs a hefty dose of cash – around 7000. After turning all three of these things into Xur, he’ll hand you a brand new version of your item with a higher defense or attack value cap.

2 通の返信This is really no different than tiered raid gear in a game like wow. Every major content patch that comes out makes the current gear obsolete in many ways. The exchange gives you a tier 2 exotic which will be upgraded at a faster pace than its predecessor. I personally dont have an issue with it considering they could have just made them completely un-upgradeable (pretty sure I made this word up).

While this does chap my ass. It's important to point out your 300 attack exotics will be useful for all content but Crotas End Hard Mode. So having them fully leveled now actually puts you considerably ahead for the first month of play. I agree you should have to max a weapon before retooling it (call it weapon prestiging); as it is currently you could buy a new exotic from Xur and then immediately upgrade it for 7k glimmer, 7 coins, and a shard. Which is outlandish. It would be less insulting if all new exotics just had the above cost tacked on to its original coin value and it just gave you the upgraded version to start with. That might also slow down people buying all their exotics from Xur every week.

you aren't forced to reset your weapons you can do that if you want to upgrade its attack more i knew something like this would happen thats why i didn't fully upgrade anything but one weapon for the achievement stop whining about it they could just not let you do this and make your old exotics completely obsolete

2 通の返信My first thoughts were: "AWESOME! Glad I didn't bother leveling Thorn, bad Jujuj, or the last word... Wait a minute." Seemed odd that I got excited about not leveling weapons. Very strange to realize that it's better to have completely unleveled exotics going into this thing than leveled ones. That's unless I'm missing something monumental here, but, for 1 shard I could turn my brand new thorn into a 300 weapon with zero effort; Completely bypassing what others spent many hours doing. Same for my bad JuJu and Last Word. Instant upgrade to attack power (assuming Xur carries any of them this weekend).

You don't have to restart the weapon progress. But if you want your old ones to be as good as the new exotics that are coming out with the dlc then of course you're going to have to level them up more. And either way if they didn't give us the option then the old exotics would be worthless and we'd just dismantle them anyways. So instead of whining that life is tough, be grateful.

4 通の返信While I think the Exotic exchange program is bad, I'm more upset about how you have to level up Raid gear from the new Crota Raid. You will no longer be able to use shards that you can get outside of the Raid to level up your new Raid gear. You will only be able to use Radiant materials that can only be found in the Raid. That means that you have to get lucky with the RNG for the Raid gear to drop and then hope you get lucky again with Radiant material. You may be grinding for several weeks just to level up one piece of armor. Maybe Bungie will only force you to obtain 1 Radiant material to upgrade the Raid armor (similar to what they are doing with Exotics). However, it is more likely that they are going to force people to grind the Raid over and over to level up 1 piece of armor.

14 通の返信Lol kid, it's been confirmed that progress won't reset at all. The new base damage is 300. After that you just unlock upgrades and a faster pace, if you so choose. But Bungie isn't resetting any exotic levels, lol kid, stop whining.

2 通の返信Plain and simple; Upgrading a maxed Exotic should also grant 1-2 telemetry for that gun. That way anyone who isn't maxed can still get their upgrades and those who have put in the work already don't have to bust their asses so hard.
-
2 通の返信Seriously who the -blam!- cares .. such a dumb thing to bitch about. If they didnt alliw us to take them in TDB people be bitching too. Your essentially turning it in for a brand new better version. It takes no time to level the things with even more bounties and telemetry all over the place. This is such a -blam!-ing dumb thing for peoole to bitch about

3 通の返信as I see it the exotic gun u have maxed to 300 will be upgradable to 400 or whatever they decide but to get it to 400 u have to reset it still keeping it at 300 but now allows u to get it to 400.. whats the problem in that ? upgrade materials helium etc is now being sold so u don't have to farm them either

8 通の返信Or you can keep playing and hope rngjesus blesses you with a drop which you then would have to level up anyways, but with this you're guarantees gear..you just have to level it up Which you would have to do anyways if.you found new gear after dlc, DA fuq is the difference? Bye! Complaining about such trivial shit its ridiculous
